The core vision of Robert and John is to Advance Humanity by innovating solutions to social problems. Our product solutions in Education and Healthcare industries target those who will ordinarily be unable to access/afford such solutions.
Elevate prize funds will allow more people benefit from our Intervention efforts in low-income segments by way of free educational devices and free subscriptions. Removing barriers to access by this demography is a major objective for us.
The funds will also support our product entry into other African markets as planned to ensure that our solutions get into the hands of those who need it most and who will otherwise be unable to access/afford such solutions. It would enable us hit the ground running for successful expansion in those markets.
Providing liberation in Education and Healthcare; as we do through our products; will go a long way in improving the lives of these individuals and their families; progressing the African continent as a whole and ultimately, Advancing Humanity.
Robert and John Limited is an innovative research and development company that uses technology to address social problems in Nigeria and Africa
We are very passionate about Nigeria and Africa because we believe in the inherent potential to be the source of wealth and progress in the world.
We are also very passionate about Education, Healthcare, Technology and Social Impact.
Our vision is to to Advance Humanity by providing research-based, innovative and disruptive technology that advance the cause of humanity.
Our products are Roducate (https://www.roducate.com) and DUCTOUR. Roducate stands for "Road to Education" because we bring quality Education to many, including children in low-income homes who have been disenfranchised. DUCTOUR stands for "Delivering Unrelenting Care To Our Users Reliably". We are improving access to quality and affordable Healthcare so that the easily treatable diseases that continue to kill low-income earners can be addressed effectively.
Roducate can be accessed for as little as less than $1 and DUCTOUR can be accessed for as little as $8.
To ensure that our products reach those in need of them, we developed a comprehensive Public Private Partnership model that helps us deliver our mandate to low-income earners and their families.
About 10 million Nigerian children are out-of-school. Many do not go to schools due to unrests e.g. about 800 schools remain closed in the North East region. Disruptions from Covid-19 still leave disadvantaged children with no form of education.
Roducate is ensuring learning never stops by providing affordable remote learning options for such children through our Public Private Partnership funded Intervention Devices, our affordable subscription option and our Roducate Schools platform, all taking into consideration the epileptic nature of vital infrastructure such as power and the internet.
Responding to the challenges brought about by Covid-19 imposed lockdown, Robert & John partnered with relevant stakeholders including KaiOS, telecommunications providers, Ministry of Education and other corporates to provide Roducate devices, complete with approved curriculum-based content, at no cost to the recipients. The devices are powered by KaiOS enabling low data consumption. Solar charging device is also provided to mitigate electricity challenges. As our contribution, we fund data provision and waive our subscription costs meaning that all students with Roducate device can access educational content as long as they have the device; without having to purchase data or pay for subscription.

The Roducate platform has the most comprehensive Educational content offering. Over 5000 government-approved lecture notes, covering all curriculum subjects from Pre-nursery to Secondary school and also select University courses. Students can also learn through podcasts, explanatory tutorial videos, mock exams, past questions and answers etc. Students participate in regular Roducate tasks and competitions with rewards. Roducate also provides students with a safe space to chat with certified counselors on academic and career issues.
We are the only EdTech company with a deliberate focus on low-income earners. Our Intervention Devices, which are funded by our unique Public Private Partnerships also address the challenges of electricity, internet access and availability of learning materials which children from low-income homes/schools face. The devices contain comprehensive educational content and come with internet access, inbuilt parental control and free subscription for the lifetime of the device.
To support schools transition to online teaching, we also provide instant set up of customized e-learning platforms for schools with a Content Management System (CMS) and relevant training, so that they can upload their own content and conduct student assessments. These services are provided at no cost to the schools to ensure a smooth transition to online teaching.
Our impact is premised on the following strategic levels:
- Intervention
- Eliminating Access Barriers
- Qualitative, Engaging Premium Content
Through Public Private Partnerships, we have been able to get devices and subscriptions for children from low-income homes. Relevant stakeholders in Government, NGOs, corporate institutions and our organization have committed funds to ensuring that no child is left behind in Education. Over 33,000 Intervention Devices and over 100,000 subscriptions were made available to children from low-income families during the pandemic-lockdown.
Access to Roducate is also affordable. Upon downloading the application, users get 30 days free access to all modules. Also, some modules remain free after the initial 30 days access even when you do not have an active subscription. This way, Education does not have to compete for the already scarce resources a lot of users survive on.
With the most comprehensive Educational content covering West and East Africa curriculum, Roducate empowers less privileged children who otherwise would not have had access to qualitative learning materials. These content can be accessed in different formats to suit different types of learners e.g. videos, podcasts, lecture notes etc. Mock exams, past questions and tasks also help students prepare effectively for examinations.
