We envision an Africa where everyone has equal access to opportunities. Has a motivation to pay it forward. We're engineering the spirit of social good in Africans. We believe if we solve the problem of the digital divide, gender inclusion, unemployment and target more social innovations with technology we can inspire social good actions in others.

If selected as a winner, Techrity will kickstart more young people both men and women in Africa into tech careers by providing more personal laptops, free browsing data and Mentorship support, we also advocate for more social innovations in Africa by bootstrapping innovators, thinkers, researchers, builders to take their local innovations and products to the global market via our Build4SocialGood hackathon and incubation program.

In Africa, browsing data does not come cheap, so we make it free so young people are motivated to take up tech careers. We believe talent development is inevitably linked to innovation, that's why we are bridging the gap in the digital divide and building solutions for social good, we do this by helping new talents into tech by providing them with personal laptops, mentorship, learning resources, browsing data, tech hub support and building solutions for social good.

I'm Owanate Amachree, Founder of Techrity.

I'm a young woman who believes she was saved by technology and is inspiring others to do same.

My story is that of persistence and determination, I graduated in the year 2014 with no hope of a job, I took up meagre jobs just to help my parents who have catered for my education, but believed I was made for more, I already had access to a personal laptop which was a saving grace, this enabled me to quickly switch careers into tech. My growth has been exponential ever since and thought if everyone had the same access as me, Africa will be great, this birthed: Techrity: (Technology and Charity).

Techrity is a tech non-profit that aims to bridge the unemployment gap, gender inclusion and provide young people with equal access to opportunities by kickstarting young talents into tech careers and building solutions for SDGs. We achieve our mission by providing vital resources such as laptop, browsing data, mentorship support, and inspire innovators and builders through our build4socialgood hackathon and incubation programme.

We envision an Africa, where both girls and boys have equal access to opportunities and more social innovations are birthed.

Why Techrity 

According to Quartz Africa, The African continent is the fastest-growing continent for developers globally, But this Large population of young and inexperienced coders require upskilling and education opportunities to boost their capabilities.

Techrity is on a mission to bridge the digital divide, gap in unemployment and foster innovations in Africa by kickstarting talents into tech with vital resources and building solutions for social good.

How we achieve this?

Talent Development 

The kickstart programme is aimed at providing beginners and developers who learn programming with their phones or who are hindered by browsing data to access these vital resources such as providing personal laptop, internet browsing data, and Mentorship support needed to grow and sustain their careers in Tech. We are bridging this digital divide by providing 10, 000 Africans with internet browsing data in 10years, we believe this will go a long way to foster innovation in R&D and technology.

Social Innovations

The Build4SocialGood program is aimed to promote social innovation by bringing together innovators, thinkers and builders to ideate around these local African challenges and build solutions to tackle them, this program is aimed at encouraging Africans to innovate more in R&D in technology.

The world is leaving Africa behind, and youths are finding other ways of survival beyond the government. Gender disparity is still at loose ends and poverty and unemployment is yet to be curbed.

At Techrity, we're kickstarting talents from a young age, and building solutions for social good.

We believe talent development is inevitably linked to social innovations, we aim to be a leading tech non-profit focused on promoting technological innovations in Africa via our #Build4SocialGood hackathon and incubation program. 

According to the UN SDG9 report, Innovation and technological progress are key to finding lasting solutions to both economic and environmental challenges, such as increased resource and energy efficiency.

The no of startups working on solutions for these local challenges in Africa are only but a few, how can we scale up this divide? What’s hindering more innovations in Africa from being at the forefront? How can we encourage these innovators to continue to do more research and development work? Can we fund more ideas and innovators? Do they lack the drive, how can we motivate them through mentoring? How can we do more incubation programs to enable more successful innovations?

At Techrity,  We believe that tech can play a significant role in alleviating social, political, and economic problems. We are changing the minds of the average African to help others and their communities by paying it forward.

We begun our outreach programs to secondary schools as part of our mission to help new talents, we equipped two students who showed great enthusiasm with laptops, browsing data and mentorship needed to begin their careers in STEM at a young age.

We have also distributed browsing data to students of Techcreek Codegaminator 7.0, this distribution was part of our social experiment to determine the level of impact access to browsing data has on our learning in Africa. We received several testimonials from recipients of the data support and we are motivated to do more. See the impact of our kickstart program.

Our first Build4SocialGood Hackathon tagged Build4InformalSector targeted at building sustainable solutions for those in the informal sector affected by the COVID, this online hackathon was held on the 7th December, 2020 which brought together designers, developers, thinkers, innovators and researchers to ideate around possible solutions for solving imminent needs of Nigerians using technology.
