National Forum for Human Rights
- Yemen, Rep.
I will use the Center's financial and in-kind support (Elevate Award funding and support) to promote in Yemeni society by doing the following:
Attention to a set of deficiencies and priorities related to the consequences of absence in terms of the scope of responsibilities entrusted to government agencies, including judicial guarantees and technical capabilities in the areas of laws and policies in addition to local and civil programs and services. the society.
Contributing to efforts to stop the ongoing war in Yemen since the end of 2014, achieving peace and the principle of good coexistence with others, rejecting violence, resorting to peaceful and legal means to resolve the conflict, and combating behaviors. This leads to the destruction of the social fabric and the creation of deep, fundamental and intentional distortions in it.
Promoting pluralism in institutional work and the institutional structure in the organization in which I work by contributing to the advancement of professionalism of work, whether specialized or qualitative, and enhancing the impact of the forum on a large scale in terms of role and importance. .

Yemen, which is witnessing a devastating war that began at the end of 2014, after the Houthi militia took control of the capital, Sanaa, and state institutions, in alliance with former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, and the conflict escalated since the beginning of the war. 2015 With the leadership of the Saudi leadership of a military coalition to confront the Houthis and support the Yemeni government, during the past five years thousands of Yemeni civilians have been wounded, whether by air strikes or as a result of bombing homes and public places, the use of banned anti-personnel landmines and the indiscriminate firing of artillery by Houthi militias, where women and children accounted for 38% Of the total civilian casualties.
The results of the field monitoring carried out by the National Forum for Human Rights in all Yemeni governorates resulted in the documentation of (47074) incidents of violation, which were monitored during the past five years, including (8,152) cases of violation during the past five years. In 2015, (9448) violations occurred during 2016, (10062) violations occurred during 2017, (9698) violations occurred during 2018, and (9714) violations occurred during 2019.
The National Forum strategy works on the following priorities
Building strong and intersecting feminist movements.
Resisting the closure of civilian spaces and supporting women and LGBT human rights defenders;
- Responding to the "shadow pandemic" of violence against women and girls and non-binary persons;
Recognition of welfare work and the promotion of economic rights.
The lack of freedom, social justice, and democratic participation has undoubtedly been a central factor in the uprising in Yemen that has affected Yemen's long-running conflicts.
In light of these considerations, the National Forum strategy will be implemented taking into account the human rights situation in terms of national and social specificities in Yemen.
Over the next five years, the National Forum will focus on the following priorities
First
Work to improve human rights conditions by implementing a mechanism to monitor and monitor violations in all Yemeni governorates, by influencing local decision-makers and mobilizing public opinion, locally and internationally.
Second priority:
Contribute to development and policy efforts to serve the realization of human rights through advocacy and lobbying campaigns.
Third priority:
Capacity development of local civil society organizations working in the field of human rights, defenders and government officials.
