Our technology came through building TeachMeNow.com. At TeachMeNow we are taking a proven offline method of personalised live tutoring and learning and making it simple, accessible and effective online. We are essentially crowd sourcing teachers, experts, mentors and leveraging untapped potential like stay at home moms and dads, recent graduates, native speakers, and teachers who want to share their knowledge to those who want to learn. We are creating knowledge from knowledge. 

We are an alternative to just using prerecorded video learning like Khan Academy which has a 90% drop out rate. All of our classes are live, personalised and one to one. 

As a student I can choose who I want to work with and as a teacher I am incentivised by setting my own hourly rate and getting ratings and reviews. To give you an idea of how global this is, our first ever class happened between a student in Saudi Arabia learning from a professor in Venezuela. While we leverage global market effeciency we are also creating and empowering individuals and creating jobs. We see thousands of students and teachers using our platform and connecting all over the world.

We are now partnered with Microsoft and working on global project with partners like GEMS Education. We work with a range of partners from academics, professional training and development, medical prefessional training, language learning and more. We have global partners from Scandinavia, North Africa, Middle East and America. 

At TeachMeNow.com, our mission is to make education accessible as well as create jobs through modern technology in the sharing economy.

We have also built our own virtual collaborative sessions that connect to the marketplace. This includes live audio / video chat, interactive documents and collaboration tools like word, powerpoint, excel and whiteboards, all linked to automated payments and tracking. This is browser based so it works on any device. 

Our tech can also be used by schools, companies, entrepreneurs and NGO's to scale their impact online. We also now offer the tech as a software that can be branded for others. 

Our goal and focus is to make expertise accessible through technology. 

We have created a cloud based platform that works on any device. The web application is accessed through the browser making it simple, global and accessible. This application can also be customised, rebranded and whitelabled for our partners  and has been transelated to different langueages including French, Norwegian and Arabic. We also have a special focus on learning disabilities and have special fonts for dyslexics. 

Our solution also falls under the future of work challenge in the next 12 months. We offer the software as a stand alone service beyond just education, although that is where we started. We see coaches, consultants, health care experts, financial advisors and other experts wanting to build their own communities. Our engine allows anyone to share knowledge and expertise on demand, focusing on a human and personalised connection. We realised the need for branding TeachMeNow.com as its own community and the technology as a stand alone engine. We have branded the tech as GetBee.com - Bringing Expertise Everywhere. 

Through both TeachMeNow and GetBee.com our goal is to bring expertise everywhere and give people all over the world access to the right expert at the right time. Because we own the engine we can create more solutions for different niche verticals and can scale this quickly.

We are cloud based, meaning we can set up a platform or access our website anywhere / anytime. All you need is wifi!

For the rebranded solutions (through GetBee.com) it takes us 2 weeks to delay a new platform based on branding specifications.

We have users accessing the technology globally! Our first session was between a student in Saudi Arabia and a professor in Venezuela. Our clients with GetBee are also global. We have set up platforms for clients in Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, Africa, Middle East, and Asia. 

On TeachMeNow.com we have over 10 000 people using our technology. On the rebranded solution, we have confidentiality clauses in terms of their numbers but what we can say is we have around 20 other platforms for schools, NGO's and entrepreneurs running with their own communities. 

Our next big goal is to reach over 1 million sessions via our platform.

We are doing two things: 

1. Creating access to knowledge and expertise. We aim to bring knowledge and access to the right expert to anyone, regardless of location.

2. Creating economic opportunity in a flexible way in the knowledge / sharing economy. We aim to empower experts to sell or share their knowledge in a simple and effective way.

Our team is international and diverse. We believe in diversity as a strength and are mostly a female lead organisation. Our founder is a serial entrepreneur (see more on www.theamyhrvold.com) who has been teaching online for many years, and was looking for a platform like what she built. All of our team are experts in their field!

We have three revenue models: 

1. We take a subscription and setup fee for the rebranded platforms on GetBEe. This varies depending on the size and scale and works as a Saas (subscription) model.

2. Commission on the marketplace (TeachMeNow.com) we take 20% of all the classes. 

3. Non profit / co sponsorship model for social projects or NGO initiatives.

Solve would be an amazing opportunity for us to showcase our work, connect and collaborate with the mentors and others that are a part of Solve. We would love to collaborate with others. We would also like to find a way to collaborate with Solve as well! 

The technology mentorship would also be amazing for us to scale to the next phase.
