I’m Young And Empowered, Inc.

Continued dignifying and empowering our youth through customized support that uplifts economically and sociologically disadvantaged families. While encouraging youth to be leaders in anti-discrimination to create a better future for all.
I am from a disadvantaged family myself and have encountered many hardships beginning at a young age. Including bullying, identity issues (I'm bi-racial black/white), teenage parenthood, mental health struggles, suicide attempts, juvenile delinquency, financial insecurity, home instability, domestic violence and incarceration.
Now with four adult children - who have overcome and achieved self-sufficiency - and four grandchildren (5th on the way). After many years of cognitive behavioral therapy, I utilize my unique experience based perspective and a deep understanding of the paradox of challenges faced by youth and their families by holistically addressing the socio-economic undercurrents that lead to the many disparities and inequities that have been highlighted further since Covid-19.
My goal is to create generational, long lasting positive impacts to reduce discrimination, inequities and economic hardship. Reduce juvenile delinquency, identity issues, self harm, suicide attempts, mental health stigma all while promoting integrity, compassion and unity and addressing the economic inequities that greatly exacerbate sociological and societal challenges.
Our organization was founded in 2019 to address the the epidemic of bullying, suicide, mental health and other results of the inequalities experienced particularly by children of severely economically disadvantaged and marginalized communities. As part of inspiring and motivating the development of integrity, compassion and unity as key character traits and to address the root causes of such behaviors in youth, we engage them in community awe provide supplemental and one-time financial aid, support a vast array of donations-fueled services, such as: supplemental food; diaper and emergency baby formula; provision of new car seats; and conduct of special events involving packaging and distribution of backpacks & school supplies, thanksgiving food baskets, winter coats and holiday gifts.
Our assistance is about supporting families experiencing economic hardship or living on a fixed low-income.
By empowering families with the means to meet their basic needs for survival.
Since April 2020 - our efficient, minimum-overhead organization has found new ways of leveraging modern technology to continue providing a vast array of community outreach services for families facing financial hardship.
In recognition of the resourcefulness these families have developed for their own survival, it’s about empowering them with the means to combining our support with employment or other social services.
We also provide supplemental financial aid, to empower our member families facing economic challenges - We provide families with our custom I'm Young And Empowered, Inc. debit card in our partnership with Netspend.
This innovate supplemental support also allows for families to purchase clothing, living supplies, make cellphone payments, make rent payments, purchase gas, and make internet/utility bill payments.
We also provide one-time self sufficiency grants.
The positive impact our organization has on all of humanity is rooted in our foundation:
Integrity - Being whole and honorable as a person, being honest and doing the right thing even when nobody else is looking.
Compassion - Being as kind and considerate to others as ourselves, as brothers and sisters or however a person chooses to identify in our common humanity.
Unity - Being inclusive of all humans first and foremost, respecting and valuing our differences and supporting one another in our humanity.
These principles are intentionally generative: Start with our young people, so that they also can carry these qualities to future generations, while in the meantime service as models for the rest of us.
We also use a variety of inspiring clothing, wristbands, materials and awards that highlight recognize and encourage
