XPRT

XPRT connects teachers and experts for the benefit of students - arranging a visiting lecture has become easier.

XPRT aims to develop and pilot a digital tool through which experts from any field can easily volunteer in teaching a subject at school. It could be anything - creativity, solar power, climate change, robotics etc. 

Not only would this be motivational for students, it would also brilliantly support their learning. The goal is to create an application that is simple yet fully functional and would help all teachers across Finland.

XPRT combines similar logic than ride sharing services and dating applications to connect experts to school communities. Through XPRT educators can contact experts from different fields and invite them to share their knowledge in the classroom. At the same time this allows parents (experts) to be more involved with school community. 

Platform helps teachers to connect to experts who are willing to contribute their time for common good. 

XPRT prototype has been built as an web service and mobile applications which can be used by teachers and experts to find each other, send/modify/accept lecture request and to give feedback. 

Provide stand alone platform which can be used by educators and experts around the world. 

We are interested in keeping the platform as a not-for-profit solution as long as possible to be able to reach maximum amount of educators and expert. 

We hope to partner with professional recruiting service(s) to be able to reach experts and get funding for operations. 

We are targeting users by HundrED Community of educators. Currently we are having over 500 community members from 37 countries. 

Only the pilot group, around 20 teachers who have been testing the service and helping to develop it. 

If we are able to provide similar kind of growth rate than for our other service "Triplet News" we are expecting to reach over 9.000 teacher accounts within 3 years in Finland, which represents app. 45% of all primary teachers in Finland. 

HundrED is working with scaling up education innovations - we are doing research on education innovations and running our own experiments all the time. 

HundrED combines not-for-profit and for-profit sides.

HundrED.org does education research as not-for profit organization. The long-term sustainability is provided by 2-4 year contracts with supporting partners. 

HundrED.plus runs education products, r&D experiments, implementation projects for-profit. 

XPRT is a part of HundrED.plus R&D experiments and it does not have profit model yet.  

We want to build impact model for XPRT and customize the solution for US market.
