We would use the prize to help mentor the participants

Exposher was founded by Chavonne Stewart, who’s from South Central LA. She was fortunate to experience life outside of the inner-city when she was in high school, and she embraced every opportunity that came her way. It is her mission to give girls what was given to her. “I want them to know that someone believes in them, and they can achieve anything they set their minds to achieve.” Through various mentoring programs they will experience different environments and cultures, and the goal is to make sure they understand that they don’t have to succumb to the type of life they’ve seen in their neighborhoods. There’s so much for them in this life!

Exposher Inc. is a California based non-profit organization. We are a mentorship program serving the inner-city girls throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. We empower girls to reach their fullest potential through exposure to, education, careers, life skills, mentorship, community, sisterhood, and travel. Exposher Inc. is evaluated based on how the girls start academically and personally with Exposher. We offer the free monthly workshops and personal mentoring. Every six months we evaluate where the girls are academically and personally, and we take testimonials about Exposher’s impact.

The number of participants is on average 12 girls ages 13-19 and accepting more girls. Girls can stay in the program as long as they would like.

The program is run by volunteers. There is no salary being paid to executive director, Chavonne Stewart. The free workshops are funded through fundraisers and donations. The participants do not pay any fees to be a part of the program. 

We are unique because we lead by example and personal experience. We empower girls to defy the odds and be successful while living in communities where the statistics for success for inner city youth show otherwise. Our program participants receive opportunities to travel the world and be exposed to careers and cultures that help them succeed.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.

We are committed to the evaluation process, making sure the girls are reaching their goals and the program's goals. We follow their progress socially and educationally and measure their success so we can determined where changes are needed.  The girls are involved in self evaluation as well. This helps to ensure the impact is what is expected.
