Mohila Unnayan Sangstha (MUS)
- Bangladesh
Mohila Unnayan Sangstha have been working on climate change for a long time. Tree planting is one of the current ongoing activities. In order to maintain the balance of the environment, more tree planting activities are underway on the roadsides, fallow lands, canal banks, government khas lands. There are many more activities that are very effective in maintaining the balance of the environment but have to work within a limitation as there is not enough money to implement that project. The Elevated Prize has spoken about climate change, so Mohila Unnayan Sangstha are interested in applying here. If Mahila Unnayan Sangstha is selected as the winner, it will work with new initiatives to build an evergreen Bangladesh with more prosperous greenery. Nursery production of saplings and large scale planting program will be undertaken. With the help of this, all activities will be implemented to create afforestation and protect the biodiversity that is conducive to climate change across the country.

In the future, the Mohila Unnayan Sangstha plans to implement the necessary programs to keep the environment friendly biodiversity and natural environment free from pollution.
Mahila Unnayan Sangstha has implemented Legal Aid project from 1998 to 2002 with the financial support of Network Partnership – Bachte Sekha, Jessore. Network Partnership in collaboration with AIDS Foundation, Jhenaidah from 2007 to 2011 to protect the rights of women workers. Among the programs undertaken by the organization at its own expense are nursery projects, fish farming, handicrafts, sewing projects and various programs against Covid-19. More than 10,00,000 (ten) lakh trees have been planted under the ongoing tree planting project. More than 500,000 (five) lakhs of Max and soap have been distributed in Covid-19. Food assistance has been provided to more than 100,000 (one) lakh families. These activities have been implemented through the organization's own funding and member donations.
The new plan adopted by the Mohila Unnayan Sangstha is to take necessary steps to prevent climate change and maintain the natural balance. To make people aware of tree planting, conservation of endangered species, increase in use of organic fertilizers, more afforestation, proper use of fallow lands and prevention of environmental pollution. There is no obstacle to conducting such activities properly but there are many who think of making a profit by harming the natural resources. There are many people who are cutting down trees indiscriminately and destroying forests. Animals are destroying bird habitats. Dishonest people who are calling for natural disasters do not support such activities. Therefore, such activities have to be conducted through legal action against such people.
Mahila Unnayan Sangstha is a non-profit voluntary organization formed for the development of neglected, oppressed women in the society. The main objective of the organization is to work for the development of the humanity of the society and the people of the country. Every project undertaken by the Mahila Unnayan Sangstha works in the service of humanity. Therefore, I think the necessary steps taken by the Women's Development Agency to maintain the balance of climate change and the environment are more effective.
