YIMBY Georgia

I received an email saying that Mitch Waldman had nominated me and my homeless 501c3 nonprofit called YIMBY Georgia (Yes In My BackYard).  Please check out our Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/YIMBYGeorgia/?ref=bookmarks to see us in action and learn more about our homeless mission. We not only serve homemade meals but also pass out tents, sleeping bags, blankets, backpacks that are loaded with supplies such as toilet paper, body wipes, flashlight, hygiene kit, rain poncho, first aid kit, reusable water bottle, socks and lots of snacks. Our goal is to get a few vans filled with supplies on the streets 7 days a week passing out supplies to our homeless.

My street portraits ended up getting turned into my nonprofit - YIMBY Georgia.

My nonprofit- YIMBY Georgia- serves our homeless communities. During the time of Covid-19 we have stepped up and served between 320-400 meals a week, we hand out between 10-15 sleeping bags a week, we pass out between 20-50 blankets a week. Food Trucks-Shower / Laundry Trucks- Tiny Home Communities & A YIMBY Georgia Thrift store that will put people to work, serve our homeless when they come inside store and have them meet with social workers on sight. 

We simply serve our homeless, we fill a need to many folks living on the streets. If someone needs a tent we hand it to them, if they need a sleeping bag we hand one to them etc etc. Once we open our thrift store what will make us innovative will be the fact that we will team up with social workers so they can assist someone in need of say a new ID, glasses, dental care, bus passes and yes housing.  

YIMBY Georgia serves about 80-120 people weekly and that is with 1 car so imagine how many more people we can help once we get funds to buy a few large cargo vans?
