my vision is to contribute towards fair, peaceful and just South Sudan where all people enjoy a dignified life and are actively participating in the development of their communities through advocacy, Youth empowerment, and civic education among Youth in South Sudan. My strategic approach is to empower communities through peace building and advocacy initiatives, capacity building, child protection and promoting of human rights and rule of law. Inspired by this believe, My work in the past four years has largely focused on developing the capacity of youth, women and local community leaders in peace building, sustainable livelihoods, awareness creation and mobilization of communities to be involved in local development, governance and peace processes.
My approach places the youth (men and women) in the fore front of efforts aimed at addressing current development and socio-economic problems facing South Sudan through investing resources in local sustainable community initiatives that strengthen collective role of South Sudanese to achieve peace, good governance, freedom, health, economic empowerment and better legal environment through enhanced rule of law and accountability
Westen Bahrel Ghazal State suffered from armed conflict that erupted in December 2013 despite that fact the Revitalize Peace agreement on the Resolution in South Sudan was signed in 2018 by both parties Dr.Riak Machar and President Salva Kiir in Juba, the conflict has cause major impact of economic. Mostly people affected are women and children, Vulnerable or minority communities. Youth (defined as 15 to 30 years old) were at the core of the conflict. youth were disposed to being recruited into the army which has create insecurity
A survey conducted in Western Bahrel Ghazal by Youth Enrichment for Success in August 2020 indicated that out 615 interviewed young women between 15—35 years of age about their poor living conditions and unemployment status revealed that 73.2% of them were not computer literate leading them been denied employment, while 55.6 had no business development skill which made them unsuccessful in business. This has increased teenage pregnancy, vulnerability and gender inequality.
Mentoring and Advocacy programs: provide mentorship and advocacy for peaceful coexistence.
Recruit and train 500 vulnerable young women and adolescent girls in the following computer courses (Window, Typing Basics, Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms- PowerPoint & Ms-Publisher) & Small Business Development Skills
My unique approach is to put community first but not alone, its bottom-up and holistic approach, focusing on individual behavior change amongst young people, men, women and policy makers as well as systematic change in policy and practice towards a more supportive environment for informed citizen led-development and problem solving. We deliver grassroots programs in some of the most hard to reach and undeserved areas. Leveraging the impact of our volunteers and a network of community social and development groups, we are contributing towards emerging of a network of empowered community groups supporting them to engage in activities that promote peace, service delivery and development in their localities.
Community mobilization/engagement:
Youth Enrichment for Success-South Sudan (YES) has a unique understanding of the challenges facing communities in South Sudan and how to best mobilize, engage and motivate them to lead change in their quest for sustainable development, peace and happiness. The community mobilization model is used to engage and inform people from a range of backgrounds and is particularly effective in people to people peace dialogue and reconciliation initiatives, peace sensitization events, GBV community sensitization campaigns, legal and human right education campaigns.
Building Networks/partnerships: i will built a networks with many youth and women groups/organizations in South Sudan through community Leaders
Engagement/mobilization tool. The networking system is built on mutual benefit where i will offers capacity training support to these groups while in turn channel its community mobilization programs through these groups to achieve wider reach and impact across the target areas.
