There are no public initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions in Kyrgyzstan. It is necessary to develop environmental awareness of citizens and widely introduce into the public consciousness an ecological ideology and environmentally neutral lifestyle.
It is necessary to introduce economic incentives for the development of the environmental behavior of citizens and the creation of "green" jobs.
It is necessary to fill the niche of ecological goods and services with the supply of small and medium-sized businesses. This purpose is to guarantee the demand from the citizens and the growing promising market.
Reducing discarded plastic by 50% of the current level (64 tons per year) is 32 tons per year. Increasing the number of green spaces in the city by 30% of the current level. Creation of 5,000 jobs in the "green" economy, mainly in the small and medium-sized business sector.
Kyrgyzstan in 2020, according to the report "World Air Quality Report 2020" of the Swiss agency IQAir ranked eighth in the ranking "The most polluted countries in the world in 2020. During the year, Bishkek city periodically came out on top in the heating period. A lack of awareness among city residents, a lack of finances create obstacles to the development of environmental ideology.
Awareness of young people (18 to 30 years old) of the "green" initiatives in the city at the level of 70% (according to open sociological surveys).
Support for "green" ideology and environmentally neutral lifestyle in the target group (18 to 30 years old) at least 50%.
To create a personal application through which the citizens will be able to monitor individual CO2 emissions (this can be done based on the "environmental index", which will take into account the consumption of electricity, water, and direct CO2 emissions). Through the app, citizens can be encouraged to use electric transport, recycle plastic, and buy environmentally friendly products ("green index" will allow to rank the most "eco-friendly" users and assign them appropriate statuses).
Because of the pandemic, as elsewhere in the world, our townspeople in our country are faced with a dark, that is, a multitude of deaths. Global warming in the world is coming soon, glaciers are already melting, snow leopards are dying, air pollution makes many sick with pneumonia, oceans, lakes, and seas are shrouded in plastic.
In Kyrgyzstan, most of the population has realized the importance of the problem associated with the environment. Plastic trash cans have appeared in our capital city. Unfortunately, we do not have a large plant for recycling garbage and plastic.
People try to live ecologically, but because of the lack of knowledge, control, motivation to live ecologically, the sleeves of our citizens are lowered.
I am more than sure that the eco-app will somehow steer us in the right direction, towards eco-friendly living. Kyrgyz people are more than ready to apply all the tools of ecology to prolong their lives and the existence of planet Earth.
- Provide scalable and verifiable monitoring and data collection to track ecosystem conditions, such as biodiversity, carbon stocks, or productivity.
Creating an app will really help make Kyrgyzstan cleaner and help our citizens develop environmental behavior. After we were all quarantined, at least one in four Kyrgyzstan residents became more conscious of environmental issues. And if we were to rank them, we were asked what the most pressing ecological problems are for each of us. The first one was air pollution. The second was trash, landfills, waste segregation. And that came out to 70%, which tells us this is really a pressing problem, it really has to be solved. We realize that we cannot go on living like this, we must start with ourselves and do something.
