NetWord Agro
Our solution is a digital soil monitoring technology (with proprietary sensor) and crops (with RGB imaging) for extension crops. Our monitoring technology is 100% proprietary and has more than 95% assertiveness. In the vertical of soils, we generate maps of the real availability of soil nutrients and their respective application maps to apply only what is necessary and in the necessary areas. In the vertical of crops we have an exclusive technology to identify the agents that cause the damage (pests, diseases and weeds) before the damage, in 100% of the area, completely automatically, without the need for field monitors and with a maximum cycle of 24 hours between monitoring and the generation of maps, so that farmers can effectively reduce their costs and have greater profitability. Our application shapefiles work in every spraying equipment and our technology is accessible to any size of farmers.
In extension agriculture, input costs represent 60% of the total management cost, these high costs are directly linked to the bankruptcy of small producers, who are unable to maintain their operations on their properties and end up selling their land.
In parallel, there is the indiscriminate use of chemical inputs released to the ground that generate a negative impact on the environment and go against the goals of the 2030 agenda.
Our service is used by farmers who have variable rate equipment, or who are willing to buy a variable rate adaptation kit, that are looking for solutions to reduce their handling costs such as pesticides, diesel, water, machine-hour, that also want to increase their productivity within the same amount of area already planted and have an environmental concern to reduce the impact generated by agricultural activities on the environment. Our monitoring of crops and soils is carried out throughout the contracted season, once a week when it is crop monitoring and once in the harvest when it is soil monitoring, the information collected by image sensors (UAVs) or by the proximity sensor of soil are processed in our AI software. which identifies the agents causing damage so that pesticide applications are made only in the areas of incidence, and identifies the real availability of soil nutrients so that only the necessary amounts are applied in each area of the property for a given culture and production. We monitor 100% of the area, automatically, without field monitors with a maximum cycle of 24h between monitoring and generating maps, so that farmers can effectively reduce their costs and have greater profitability.

Our targeting market is the properties that plant extension crops, among these crops we operate in soybean, corn, beans, wheat, cotton, sugarcane and pasture. Today we have operations in 41 regions within the Brazilian territory and a partner company in Paraguay. Our business model is structured to scale so the operations can take place anywhere in the world and the information may be processed by our software at our cloud base. Our customers today are extension or pasture grain farmers that can be small, medium or large producers, who have variable rate equipment, or who are willing to buy a variable rate adaptation kit, that are looking for solutions to reduce their handling costs such as pesticides, diesel, water, machine-hour, that also want to increase their productivity within the same amount of area already planted and have an environmental concern to reduce the impact generated by agricultural activities on the environment.
- Create scalable economic opportunities for local communities, including fishing, timber, tourism, and regenerative agriculture, that are aligned with thriving and biodiverse ecosystems
Input costs represent 60% of the total management and are linked to the bankruptcy of small producers. Also, there is the indiscriminate use of chemical inputs that generate a negative impact on the environment.
We appliy concepts of integrated pest and disease management, farmers need to leave the traditional calendar management and understand the applications of pesticides have to occur when crop needs.
The cost reduction with pesticides at the end of a harvest can vary between 20% to 40%, and an increase in productivity of 5% to 10%, because a crop that does not suffer from damage produces more.
- Scale: A sustainable enterprise working in several communities or countries that is looking to scale significantly, focusing on increased efficiency.
NetWord Agro technology allows farmers to use 100% of the technologies shipped in planting, fertilizing and spraying equipment, reducing the handling costs with management during the harvest. It is research, development and innovation applied to the market. Our solution started with two Master’s thesis aiming to solve a real problem in the fastest growing sector in Brazil. We are on our 7th harvest proving that all the 4 years in lab, tests and validation built a strong and reliable technology to help farmers, the agricultural economy and the planet.
On this 7th harvest we are operating in 5 states of Brazil, 41 regions and we operate with a partner in Paraguay

We developed a portable proximity sensor that reads the real availability of soil nutrients to generate the real availability maps to apply the right amount of fertilizers in the area and just where it is needed. We use UAVs with RGB cameras to identify the agents who cause the damage before the damage is installed in the field, we can identify the weeds even with the plants already grown. Fully automatic, no field monitors needed, in 100% of the area and with a max. cycle between monitoring and generating incidence maps of a maximum of 24 hours, so that we can reduce costs and have greater profitability, our maps work on all sprayer and fertilizers manufacturers and with a technology accessible to any size of farmer (we have developed a kit with market equipment at a low cost that transforms any sprayer into a sprayer with variable rate, incidence maps and AP).

We measure our numbers in hectares monitored. We have already monitored 100k hectares so far.
For next year, we will be monitoring 500k hectares.
In five years we aim to achieve 1.000.000 hectares monitored.
Our clients have different size of areas, so we have farmers with 50hectares and farmers with 2000hectares.
Our business impacts 13 of the 17 SDGs, on direct goals and sub-goals. The environment really matters for us, we reduce the use of chemical pesticides and natural resources by generating incidence maps that show where the agents who cause the damage are or maps that show what are the real necessities of the soil, so the farmers can apply the chemical inputs only where and when is needed. On these 100K hectares monitored so far, we have already achieved 12 tons less defensives, 2.4 million less liters of water, 720 less machine hours and 8.6 million less liters of fuel.

Our purpose is to deliver value to those who really matter in the production of extension crops, and these are farmers, of any size, from any region, from any country. Thus making agricultural production much more sustainable. And so we did, it was a great challenge, but after 4 years of R&D, we entered the 2017/2018 summer harvest commercially and we now have 7 harvests and a cumulative 100,000 hectares monitored. Delivering our customers cost savings and increased productivity.
Our purpose follows this strong brand in our DNA and provides the following sustainability tripod. 1 - All farmers matter, we do not exclude anyone from accessing our technology, 2 - The environment matters and we reduce the use of chemical pesticides and natural resources and 3 - Farmers' profitability matters, so we increase their results by reducing costs and increased productivity.

Our team is diverse and has its background in very different areas. Our founders have a background in computer science, and personal and family experiences in the field of agriculture. That's why our team is made up of agricultural technicians, administrators and agricultural engineers. It is very important for us to seek knowledge in new areas and diversify our studies, which is why one of our founders is studying for a Doctorate in Agronomic Engineering.
