Tanidev
A startup that helps farmers who experience significant losses on their agricultural products to solve the problem of farmer productivity that is not optimal by providing IoT devices that can provide information in the form of land data and information guidance that is easily understood by farmers in order to create maximum yields and agricultural practices precise, precise, and efficient
We see that most of the current farming practice in Indonesia was done by giving fertilizer and disinfectant through guessing the amount it should be. This leads to an unsustainable land, inefficient farming, and a cumulative decrease on their yields. This could be seen as our sugarcane yields were decreasing in year of year basis based on our researched in Kediri. Through knowing their land condition thoroughly, we could know what kind of action the farmers could do to increase the efficiency and sustainability of a land. This practice of giving the precise amount of nutrition and treatment could increase the yield up to 200% (Singh, 2009).
Less Efficient Production
- Treatment in the current production chain is still not efficient, causing a lot of wasted results
Less Maximum Earnings
- Treatment in the current production chain is still not efficient, causing a lot of wasted results
Delay in Provision of Nutrition
- There are specific nutrients that plants need at a certain time, delays in supply will certainly make growth stunted
Addressing the problem, we will use a device that would continually records land and climate condition. Our system would learn the data, process it, and give prescription for the farmers to adhere. Through our services farmers could know the treatment they should do. All of the guide that our farmers might need would be available on us so they could easily manage their farm.
Who Are They ?
1. Farmers who experience significant losses on their agricultural products
2. Modern farmers (who understand the use of technology)
3. Farmers who own their own land and live in areas that are accessible to the internet
4. Farmers aged between 20-40 years
What Are We Doing ?
1. We will collaborate with local governments in order to reach various levels of society.
2. We will collaborate with farmer groups or communities in the area so that we can reach and communicate with farmers
3. We will collaborate with producers in these commodities because they can connect us with their farmer workers
- Create scalable economic opportunities for local communities, including fishing, timber, tourism, and regenerative agriculture, that are aligned with thriving and biodiverse ecosystems

We have validated our solution idea and the result is
We have validated 11 customers
The other 2 didn't work for us to validate
11 Our customers feel and confirm that the problems we assume are happening in agriculture today. They received a lot of help to solve this problem but to no avail or only promises up front. Our customers think this can help them in determining what to do with their land first there are some farmers who do not understand good farming practices. But customers need a proof of testing in their fields so that they are 100% sure and when the testing can really help them, then they want to buy and use our devices and they will also help us in future promotions. 11 Customers who receive our validation are farmers who are open to the conditions of their land and farmers who are also technology savvy.
- Pilot: An organization deploying a tested product, service, or business model in at least one community.
We are in the pilot stage testing our IoT devices in several villages in Java, Indonesia. Currently, there are 2 villages that will conduct trials and 1 company producing corn commodities. In one village there are approximately tens of farmers who are still active.
We are targeting that there will be 20 villages in the Java region that will work with us to test our IoT devices and get feedback from farmers regarding the technological solutions we offer.
At each trial in the village, we also validate our business model with the farmers there. The business models we validate are subscribing to use the device, selling farmer needs, helping to sell farmers' crops, and financing for farmers.
- A new application of an existing technology
Farmers in Indonesia are dominated with small farmer which only has less than an acre. Hard for them to find buyers and have bargaining power. Most of them will plant staples for it has a lot of buyers without concerning about the compatibility of their land. Data is the gold of tomorrow, from it they would not need to find buyers for we could match demand with farmer land characteristics. Moreover, Tanidev also increases land sustainability by checking its properties frequently. We would not only cater farmer needs but also reducing world resource usage.

Because we feel that by taking on this challenge, we can learn a lot from the experts and judges. on the other hand we also hope to win this challenge in order to develop Indonesian agriculture.
we need a lot of input from experts from MIT in order to solve these problems in the agricultural market
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
- Business model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
we want to partner with fertilizer factories, seed factories to assist us in providing the best agricultural needs for farmers.
We also want to partner with agricultural education institutions so that they can help with data analysis so that we can recommend appropriate actions to be taken for farmers based on the condition of their land.
