Build Brothers HUB
We are helping to grow the tech eco-system in our community by educating, mentoring and supporting members of the community.
Tech is growing very fast in Nigeria and the level of interest international tech giants show for Nigerian tech talents is an evidence to prove that. However, most of the tech activities and jobs in Nigeria are concentrated in commercial capitals like Lagos. This leaves regions like Benue with a poor tech eco-system and high rate of unemployment .
Build Brothers NG gave birth to Benue Tech Forum (BTF), an organization that brings tech enthusiasts, professionals, tech lovers and other professionals together to discuss, train, mentor and educate people in the region about tech and the opportunities in the tech industry. We seek to establish Build Brothers HUB, which will serve as a physical location from where our team can work on our various activities that will help create a better tech eco-system in the region. The Hub will also serve as a venue for meetups and training.
So far we have helped over 200 people learn new tech skills which they are already using to make themselves and the community better. We hope to reach more people and contribute to birthing future tech leaders that will use technology to solve common problems in various sectors like Education, Governance, Healthcare and others that are very common in African societies. And on the long run we hope to help more Africans in small communities that ours contribute to the development of technology at the international level. These will create more jobs, smart cities in Africa, reduce illiteracy and crime.
- Educators fostering 21st century skills
- Personalized teaching, especially in disadvantaged communities
Unlike universities or the usual technology training centers in our community, we are open, and we use modern technologies like social media to reach our target audience. Also we are not only interested in training people on new tech skills, we work to train them using the latest, tested and reviewed methods that works and will enable them succeed.
We work towards training /and supporting people to become better at what they do by using new technologies or to become tech leader. We use technology to run our own in-house products and services and train people to build solution that can even be bigger and better.
Setup a tech hub in Makurdi where most tech events in the region will hold and also serve as a place where tech professionals can work from, get world-class training, electricity, fast internet and good ventilation at fair cost. This will help us train/support/mentor more people that we are currently able to do without our own Hub(space)
We seek to expand to other cities in our province and work with people from other nearby provinces to grow the tech eco-system. We will want to have helped grow tech eco-systems outside Lagos that are active and reorganized for good all over Nigeria and Africa.

They will be a physical location (the Hub) and we will use the internet and social media to reach more people remotely. We will also organize roadshows events where are team will visit communities that can not access or hub easily.
We have reached over 200 people. They attend our meetups, seminars, workshops and training. We also support them remotely via social media. Thanks to our activities they are learning new skills and improving the way they do business.
We wish to reach 1000 people by mid 2019. We will train, mentor and support them to become better at what they do with technology or get them to start doing more by introducing tech into their lives. In 3 years we want locals from the community to have startups that are popular in the country and Africa.

Our team is made up of:
Software developers, Digital marketing experts, Bloggers and Entrepreneurs
We seek to reach more people in our target community and organize more training; workshops and seminars that will help people in the community embrace technology and build startups or become more employable in the tech sector. We also hope to provide affordable workspace for entrepreneurs in the community through our Hub. We believe Solve can help us achieve these if we win by providing funding for us to get our own space for the hub. We also believe we can benefit from exposure we will get from Solve and that it will help us get new partnerships.
Looking at our activities so far, we face the following barriers:
1. No permanent physical location for events, seminars and training.
2. Not enough funds/partnerships to execute our plans as well as we will want to.
Any fund from solve can help to secure a space where we can stay and run most of our activities. We can also invest more resources on our programs like seminars and training if resources are made available through funding or/and new partnership.
