Decryptionary - The Simplest Crypto & Blockchain Dictionary
Decryptionary.com is the simplest crypto and blockchain dictionary designed to help you finally get blockchain.
It was late 2010, and I was sitting in Los Angeles reading an article on this new thing called bitcoin. The author said it was a new type of digital money and some people made history using it to buy a pizza. Curious, I read on and found that unlike cash, you couldn't ever touch bitcoin. I clicked out of the article uninterested in this “fake" money.
Fast-forward to April 2017. I'm living in NYC clicking through news articles when I stumble on one about bitcoin. I barely remember the stuff and out of curiosity open it. My mouth goes dry as I read that the bitcoin used to buy the pizza back in 2011 is now worth millions of dollars. A single bitcoin in 2011 worth pennies is now worth over $1,000! My mind is racing. I close all my tabs and do a Google search on bitcoin reading every single article on the first page. I can’t help myself, I buy $200 worth.
A few months later my fiancée and I are visiting her mother in Portland. The two of us are spending a sunny afternoon with my high school friend as he takes us to his favorite coffee shop. As we’re chatting, I learn that he too had bought some crypto. My heart starts pumping when he shares that the prices of crypto had recently skyrocketed.
2 hours later and back at home, I race upstairs to my laptop and open a tab for a website that shows the current prices of cryptocurrencies. Excitement hits me hard when I realize my $200 investment is now worth $1,000! I let out a howl my mind buzzing with excitement and pride.
That success sends me down the crypto rabbit hole into blockchain technology. Before I know it, I’m lost in the new, confusing words and phrases surrounding this subject. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the most basic terms mean. How can this revolutionary technology make any changes if its followers can’t even understand or agree on it?
I decide to dig myself out of the confusion by researching every term and taking notes. I define each term using only simple words that can be understood by a 3rd grader. Two weeks in and I have my eureka moment. The name is Decryptionary.com, and it is the simplest crypto and blockchain dictionary.
I begin attending many crypto and blockchain Meetups in NYC where I introduce Decryptionary. I’m warmly received by hundreds of attendees at dozens of events. Among the attendees, I meet a former drug dealer who happened to discover bitcoin while doing business with a customer. I also meet bankers from JPMorgan who appear to be passionate about crypto despite harsh words from their CEO Jamie Dimon.
I continue developing Decryptionary, evolving definitions, expanding my database to now include over 250 entries and beginner guides. Decryptionary is the only way everyone from a 10 year old to your grandparents can understand this revolutionary technology.
- Educators fostering 21st century skills
Unlike other education platforms that focus on teaching individuals how to profitably invest or create blockchain code, Decryptionary.com helps everyone from 3rd graders to grandparents understand the most fundamental parts, the words.
Decryptionary.com is based on simplifying the latest technology, blockchains. Decrypationary was built using web technology for easy, quick access. It requires a developer to further customize the dictionary for even easier use and eventually to build a mobile app.
- Consolidate and publish my beginner guides into an e-book and publish 2-3 introductory checklists.
- Continue promoting on Crypto101 Podcast
- Complete stick-figure illustrations for each entry and finish adding all suggested entries.
- Resume online guerilla marketing through Youtube, Medium, Reddit, email, etc.
- Release an online masterclass for serious students.
- Create weekly Youtube videos explaining basic concepts.
- Hire a developer to add more features to the dictionary and purchase data analysis tools to optimize the website.
- Rebrand the website and translate into Indian and French.
My 3 year vision is that every day, Decryptionary is the starting point for thousands of people new to blockchain tech. That means providing enough valuable content at a quick pace (using my Standard Operating Procedures) and a having a profitable business model in place to allow for customer acquisition on popular platforms.
My 5 year vision is that all of the educational platforms link to and advertise on Decryptionary because it is the primary learning center for millions of people new to crypto.

I am applying to solve primarily for the networking and media visibility. I think Solve's network and connections can help me get in touch with the right people to more efficiently make a bigger impact.
I have 2 key barriers:
- There is so much data in blockchain and it is constantly evolving so that it is hard to stay on top. Solve has the network of people I want to know who can help me learn how to sift through the madness to find the gems.
- I created each definition in Decryptionary myself but haven't had anyone with technical expertise review them and help me fine-tune each entry. Using the Solve's network of experts, I could ask for help in verifying and polishing each entry.
- Peer-to-Peer Networking
- Media Visibility and Exposure
