The Tree Initiative
The Tree Initiatives combats Desertification and the expansion of the Sahara desert by one inch every year. There are two main focus of the Initiative first planting trees along the edge of the Sahara desert known as the shale region. Second stage is the introduction of renewable energy such as solar energy for for a solar panel. planting trees project will restore the degraded land of the sahel region more than 8000km and 100 million Hectare from Senegal to Djibouti. The expansion of the sahara desert creating a lot of problem on the ecosystem people and animal are migrating in search of futile land and grazing land. The communities who lived there for years are not there anymore because they cant fare and support there families. this is the multi year project which require working with organizations , individual and media to create awareness
The specific problem I'm solving is restore the ecosystem by bring back the degraded land and the biodiversity once lived existed. The sahara desert expanded up to 16% in less than a century imagine what will happen in the next century or so if nothing is done. The Great green wall project been working on for decade and they only able to cove 15% of the restoration. UN SDG is 9 years left on it. I believe with the right resource we can do bettert.the loss of land further more on sahel region affect more than 3 billion people in different countries and communities. with solar panel we can slow down the fire wood burning.
My solution is to restore the ecosystem in the sahel region. First in planting trees billion of threes .Second stage is introducing renewable energy such as solar power and small scale hydro power in some case. this will prevent firewood been cut down. the solution is simple but it require a lot of dedication and time as well as finance. in a case of the sola panels. solar panel latest up to 30 years more than 1/4 of a century that's saving a lot trees from becoming fire wood lol. the sahara desert expands cole to 20% since 1920. If this problem is not been solved we imaging what the next century will look like. The people who live on the shale region and the biodiversity and the entire ecosystem. we have responsibilities a developed nation and as a human being to take care of this planet and its ecosystem to preserve it for the next generation
My solution servers the local communities in the sahel region and the global community up to 3 billion people. It also server the the entire ecosystem the biodiversity a lot of wildlife and migrating to the north in search of grazing land .
- Create scalable economic opportunities for local communities, including fishing, timber, tourism, and regenerative agriculture, that are aligned with thriving and biodiverse ecosystems
This solution directly address the restoration of the ecosystem. The Sahel region losing one inch of land every year to the Sahara Desert.Since 1920 the sahara desert expanded by up to 20% that cover more than three contraries. if its not dealt with, a lot of communities in the sahel region will loss a lot of biodiversity. My solution is about restoring the ecosystem, the land and biodiversity. its about saving the land, its about saving the biodiversity, its about saving livelihood its about saving the continent.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model.
We already consulting with several local organization and working with them to start the tree plantation and using renewable energy source instead of burning firewood.
- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
I believe my solution can positively impact the globe. The problem im tackling is dire and important problem not only to the local community which is directly affected but also the global community as well. my solution can stop the expansion of the shara desert and bring back the biodiversity and rector the land. With the solar panels project we can also stop the local form cutting the trees for firewood.

My solution currently serving 112 million people . With in one year we can reach up to 300 million and with in the next five year we looking to serve more than a billion people.
The UN SDG goal for 2030 is 9 years to go so we don't really have that much time but I believe my solution can contribute to the SDG Goal immensely. a the trees can observe most the CO2 from the atmosphere and store it in the soil. The solar energy transformation project will stop any addition Co2 entering the atmosphere.
