Cyberleet
Water scarcity and limited access to fresh water in Morocco is becoming a real crisis especially in rural regions that are severely under served due to the outdated water management and distribution systems & the over consumption of this resource. Plus the growing demand for water which pushed Morocco to extreme water stress ranking it 12th in Arab countries and 22nd in the world and despite the efforts, that number is not improving. A better water management system is needed to tackle this issue. That's why Cyberleet's IoT smart water meters linked to a software is a game-changing solution, we are offering water provider companies the possibility of remote data-reading in real time and built-in control of the water distribution system. We have a vision to ensure fair water distribution for individuals and farmers in all of Morocco & Africa. This solution ensures a fair water distribution system, responsible consumption of water and automation & optimisation of the water management system.
Scarcity of fresh water resources in Morocco and improper/outdated water management and distribution systems. Gaps in the water management system in Morocco:
*Weak coordination between various ministries and organisations responsible for drought management and water distribution.
*Inadequate sharing of information and lack of real-time access to data.
*Outdated water distribution systems/tools that do not enable equal access to water in certain regions like Souss-Massa.
* 35% of piped water is lost, and water stocks are being polluted with industrial and urban waste. Cultivable land is also compromised because of water shortages and soil erosion.
*The potable water pipes in cities are in such bad repair that 35% of the water in the system is simply lost.
A smart water metering solution that uses special water flow meters that measure the amount of water flowing through the pipeline, the consumption data is transferred directly and instantly to the connected software through the IoT network, which the client (water providers) can use for information sharing or tracking and to control the amount of water distributed to every home through the use of IoT technology.
Direct clients= Water Providers
Rationing Water Consumption: Remotely regulate the flow of water & consumption
Dynamic Water Billing: Reduce operational complexity and billing costs
Easily Identify inefficiencies: Identify & manage • Leaks • Theft • Meter
inefficiencies • Water main break sources to control them.
Indirect consumers/End-users= Households
Dynamic Water Billing: Convenient access to automatically calculated bills.
Control Over consumption Of Water: Keep a track of the timing and volume of water they consume.

Our solution aligns with the following challenge:
Provide scalable and verifiable monitoring and data collection to track & manage water resources properly and sustainably, prevent water loss and manage water distribution and consumption.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model.
We are currently at the product development "MVP" stage and we are searching for funding opportunities to start manufacturing and testing our initial product on a larger scale and launch our business officially in the next 6 to 8 months.
- A new application of an existing technology
The innovative take of our solution is the integration of IoT technology in the metering industry. It enables the possibility of not only control but also real time instant access and use of accurate data including water consumption, leaks, etc; giving the client a jump start on controlling water loss and managing water resources more responsibly. Our solution can bring positive change to the water sector and drive it to advance and get familiarised with technological improvements/tools including IoT. It will be an investment from the part of water provider companies that will change the course of water supply sector and drive the impact to the agriculture sector as well, one that is largely relied on by Morocco in terms of employment (45%) & economic growth (15% of GDP). We believe that an investment in this IoT platform to manage water is the foundation for a complete shift from an outdated, poorly managed infrastructure to an optimised IoT infrastructure in Morocco to build the base for smart cities.

One year: we expect to sell 15 000 meters to water providers operating in:
Beni Mellal - Khenifra Region (Radeet)
Marrakech-Safi (Radeema)
ONEP & Urban Centers (Operating in the aforementioned regions)
Five years: We expect to capture at least 50% of the Moroccan market (approximately 1,378,785 households/meters sold) ,including: Lydec (CASA) - Redal (Rabat) - Amendis (Tanger) and prepare to extend our services to other African regions: Cameroon, Algeria, Mauritania.
Water quality (a KPI that can be measured in real-time by use of the IoT sensors ) : expected to improve.
More accurate billing leading to reduced debt collection costs and operational costs.
Battery life of sensors and network coverage especially in rural areas.
Reducing water losses from leaks (detected by sensors) or improving response times to burst
pipes and other issues.

This is a problem that affects us all as Moroccan Residents and
what unites us as a team is that we are African individuals with
a shared vision of ensuring fair water distribution for individuals
and farmers in all of Morocco thanks to the diversity of our
backgrounds, experiences and skills. From engineers with exposure to the business sector to young business graduate with experience in the startup world, we form a homogeneous team that is capable of tackling any struggle whether technical or commercial that comes our way.
We build our organisational culture based on these values:
Teamwork: “WE” mindset
Innovation: Innovative & Simple Products
Entrepreneurial Spirit : Encourage Creativity & Passion
Customer Oriented Work Style: One-on-One customer Service
We want to give a chance to bright individuals to get a full startup experience, while also contributing to the decision making, dealing with technical and commercial aspects of the business and including them as part of the team rather than focusing on the hierarchy.
- Organizations (B2B)
This is a chance to sponsor launching the project with all the required paperwork and materials. The only barrier Cyberleet is struggling with at the moment is financial funding to start production and pilots, so getting the MIT solve grant will be a huge help to the business as it will enable our team to put all our hard work into practice and officially enter the market. This use of IoT technology in the water industry will open new possibilities and applications for the concerned authorities (i.e. water suppliers, ministry of water and electricity, etc) beyond improving the water distribution system and improving water quality. Plus, the fact that there are no other Moroccan companies integrating IoT in the manufacturing of water meters offers a unique strategic value for Cyberleet that enables cost reduction and efficiency in water management for companies, access to fresh water for indirect -end users- forging a path towards more sustainable communities.
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. expanding client base)
This is an opportunity for Cyberleet to break the financial barrier that is blocking market entry and attract potential clients through networking, partnerships and be able to offer pilot testing to some organisations to create a credibility in the market and start improving the community one region at a time.
Potential clients: water supplier companies (ONEP; LYDEC; RADEEMA...)
Help secure initial potential users to test the product and give feedback after launch by identifying and contacting leads.
