The Reckoning
We have lost our connection with nature. The ecological problems we face are getting worse by the minute. We need to save our planet on a war footing. In this technologically advanced world, everyone is hooked to their smartphones. My objective is to nature the intent to save our biodiversity in the form of a game.
This game takes the player on a journey through the ecological world and depicts how modern environmental issues can be solved by using quantum computers, at the center, working with AI, nanobots, and satellites. The quantum computer is thus part of an interconnected system and it’s part sentient.
This RPG game is thus not only a means of education but also an opportunity to show the world that we can change our perceptions and will solve our indolences and begin to rebuild what we have messed up.
The world is collapsing around us - species are going extinct, deforestation has raised temperatures, and global warming is threatening the very existence of not only humanity but also our rich biodiversity. The scale is cataclysmic.
More than 200 million people live in toxic environments are at serious risk for cancer, respiratory diseases, and premature death. Most projections put sea-levels to rise at around a foot by 2100 submerging most coastal land and habitations. We need help, and we need it fast. Our world is past the point in which simple recycling can solve its problems. Apart from these, we’re facing an energy crisis - coal and petrol take millions of years to form, and unfortunately, we’re reaching the end of their availability.
In order to reach out to the younger generations, whose contributions to the problem will decide whether or not we can continue living on this planet, I’ve created ‘The Reckoning’; incorporating the idea of a futuristic technology that has the capability to overcome these challenges - a quantum computer. I am trying to bring about ‘perception change’ - we need the younger generation to become the scientists that will save our planet.
With ‘The Reckoning’, I am advocating for young people to become engaged in one mission, save the planet -within the world they love-- video games. The Reckoning is a 2-D role player game where the user is introduced to the idea of a quantum computer and gets to control an inter-connected technological system, consisting of AI, satellites, and microbots, to solve current ecological problems like global warming, the energy crisis, and burning rainforests. The gameplay is fairly simple, but the main idea behind the game is to educate the younger generation on a subliminal level. Various quantum computing concepts are hidden in the game to inform the players about the potential solutions to this global problem.
The Reckoning will be placed on https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/.
The game is targeted mainly towards the younger generation, but it’s not limited to them. The younger generations will bear the brunt of the ecological collapse and its in their best interest to wake up.
The Reckoning will be offered free on one of the largest platforms available to gamers on the internet - Epic Games. https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/. Though this site is primarily based in the US, gamers around the world have access to the store. This will ensure that it reaches the largest audience possible and consequently educate them on these threats to our existence. 91% of kids aged 2-17 play games (and not just tag and such), comprising a group some 64 million children strong.
In the underserved countries, we need to spread the idea that these children can be scientists that will go on to protect their community, environment, and thus adding to the protection of biodiversity worldwide. My game thus creates a sense of responsibility among the younger generation all around the world.
- Provide scalable and verifiable monitoring and data collection to track ecosystem conditions, such as biodiversity, carbon stocks, or productivity.
The Reckoning introduces the concept of a quantum computer that has the ability to communicate and collect data from every living thing on the planet through electrical signals. It then converts these signals to readable text so that researchers can understand what’s happening in the ecosystems of the world and make use of the inter-connected technological system to try to solve problems in real-time.
The quantum computer in my game thus acts as the entire world’s nerve center collecting data and signals from every living organism.
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea.
The quantum computer is currently still in its infancy - the algorithms that require it to show a clear advantage over the computers of the modern world require millions of qubits, the quantum computing equivalent of bits.
However, the largest quantum computer in the world has less than 100 perfect qubits. Thus, my solution represents a theoretical concept that presents potential solutions to future generations.
It also seeks to introduce the idea of a quantum computer. Since this technology hasn’t been perfected yet, education and propagation of its power to radically impact the world of the future will accelerate the technology and the solution much faster.
- A new technology
‘The Reckoning’ tries to involve ecological problems in one of the most widely used platforms among the younger generation - video games. It seeks to combine this subliminal education with technology that will be available to the younger generations.
Taking a different approach to education, The Reckoning also has little to no jargon - its main purpose is to introduce the idea of a quantum computer and involves various mini-games that make the game fun and involving.
It could potentially bring about a change in perspective regarding how we can approach this life-threatening problem. Since my game will be available on the biggest platform available to the biggest industry of the younger generation, it could reach out to and change the views of the same and try to persuade them to put the environment first - we have very little time left on this planet, and the sense of urgency that my game creates represents that we need them to be the eco-heroes of the world.

The Reckoning has not been released to the general public yet, but a beta version of it will soon be uploaded onto the epic games website.
We’re hoping to hope that millions of players will play the game as we spread the word around the internet.
Our marketing campaign will provide for spreading the message on social media and on reddit/groups and communities. It is also planned to be featured on social rooms dealing with the topics of ecological changes
We will measure progress based on the number of users that play our game. The more players there are, the more the idea gets spread and thus its impact will increase. Since it’s a relatively short game - around 30 minutes to an hour - the number of players will be close to the number of people that made it to the end. As a result, the measure of progress will be almost equal to the number of people that play our game.

I took the QubitXQubit and IBM's course on Introduction to Quantum Computing. I have been tinkering around with quantum computing frameworks and algorithms for over a year now, trying to research on areas where the first significant impacts will be felt when the technology does become available for general use in a few years.
As a member of the generation that has to suffer the consequences, I thought of a coherent idea to combine our current knowledge of the technology that will be available to us with the technology that interests our generation most today. Due to the fact that we're a part of the younger generation, we also understand how their minds work and have thus shaped our idea of large scale education in the form of a game.
I have decided to introduce our own generation to the ideas we've been exposed in the form of something that can reach out to the widest possible audience.
Right now am a team of 1, so I stand as the leader, the helper, the marketeer, and the submitter of the game to various sites and forums to maximize the coverage of my message my beliefs.
We need to fix the problems of our ecology quickly and I dream of the quick invention of quantum, computing and its first application out of the gate being to solve for our ecological problems.

For review and to get the maximum exposure for the cause I believe in and for others to join in saving our planet. This is a labor of love and a sincere attempt using my skills to help in any which way possible to save the planet and ensure the future of my generation and of generations to come.
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. expanding client base)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
Would welcome and help with hosting platforms, free marketing and advertisements, helping expand the scope of the game and most importantly playing it and providing feedback and enhancements.
A simple social media post or tweet telling the world to play the game will enable us to get the message as far and wide as possible.
Ad and marketing agencies, individuals, any guidance from quantum computing experts and game development experts to take it beyond what a 16 year old can to spread the message that he strongly believes in
