My description
My name is UWIMANA Abraham. Born in poor family. I have bachelor’s degree in law. I worked in DOT Rwanda as STARTUP! Facilitator and business coach. I led outreach, training, coaching and transitions of DOT’s out of school youth to employment, business and further studies’ opportunities in the community. After all these I fought of making my own business that will empower girls and fight for equality between men and women in regard to employment and technology. My social business is called “YOPLES” meaning: Youth Opportunities Providence for Learners in Entrepreneurship Seminars.
YOPLES is a school of innovation and development having a mission to better prepare all females for the qualitative education for tomorrow need without any kind of discrimination bad mindset. YOPLES is registered in Rwanda Development Board. We need to promote gender equality by empowering girls in technology and self employment. We teach our trainees computer, we provide web literacy for productive employment and we give opportunities for our learners to use our equipments to make their own products and access around opportunities.
Our target group is drop out school females and unemployed fresh females graduates. We believe a girl in technology is a key to development. We help learners to get access to our internet and explore the world and around opportunities via Online. Each one can be productive at work and able to change Africa. We already started working and we have clients but we still have problem of insufficient tools.
Our innovation is that we teach technology girls and empower them to self-employment rather than leaving them go. They can pay registration before course or after selling the first products they made in practical course.
YOPLES was created to respond to social challenges that young females face in regard to employment , technology and gender discrimination. Boys dominate girls in the field of technology and employment. so i would like to make a transition of girls to be employers.
My proposal will will solve this problem because by using the technology girls will explore many online opportunities like scholarship, grants, available coaching, fellowships and etc.
The impact of my business is the creation of cooperatives of women. jobs will be increased, reduction of unemployment and poverty. Females will invest their skills to get employed. By teaching them and facilitating them to use our equipment, they will generate some money.

I believe to get knowledge and opportunity to pitch my solution to the public in New york at the general assembly of UN. Participating there can help me also build network and study from successful people and know what we can do to get success. I can even get sponsors or investors or any kind of support that can help me get developed easily.
