 Americans throw away about 60 million plastic bottles everyday which eventually ends up in carparks and blocking water ways. Nigeria generates about 32 million tons of waste per year which is so huge. china has placed ban on accepting used plastic from other countries. Therefore every country must find a way to recycle plastics from the grassroot not on a large industrial scale that cost millions of dollars.

we are committed to solving the problems damage caused by used plastic bottles to our immediate environment and ecosystem using simple innovative ways. 

Our proposed solution is unique and simple; Recycle plastic bottles right at the grassroot level on every street, schools and basic institutions in the local level not piling them up at land fills for large industrial recyclers which cost millions of dollars.

We are working to solve the problem of damage done by plastic waste in our immediate environment. Due to the cost of industrial plastic recycling, plastic bottles is gradually becoming an environmental hazard to everyone. Since this is a worldwide problem, every single person is affected. Ignorance is one of the major factors contributing to the problem.

A solar powered plastic recycle bin that keeps track of number of plastics dumped in it by using a mobile app. The collected plastic containers are moved to a recycling centr, crushed and the pellets sold to companies using it for plastic production. Every individual downloads a binapp on their phones. Whenever you use a plastic bottle instead of throwing it away, you take it to the solar bin and then open the app on your phone. Before dropping the plastic bottle the solarbin asks you to scan your bar code. After that it recognizes the registered user. the user then drops the plastic bottle into the bin. for every plastic bottle dropped, the user is paid a token amount into he's or her wallet on the app. This payment encourages the binapp users to drop their used plastic bottles in the solar bin using the binapp on their phone.

What is it? It is physical machine(solar bin) integrated to work with a mobile phone app(binapp)

It is our desire to make positive impact in our immediate society. The huge refuse dumps of plastic containers is so huge that it's threatening the existence of and cleaniness of our environment. People affected directly are average citizens who leave in low key areas where dump sites are common. Currently water ways are getting clogged which leads to blockage of canals and flooding, mosquito infestation and water borne diseases. At present we are drafting and strategizing how the team will deploy out innovation to this area and how we can assist these set of people.

Engaging these community members is a huge task. We intend to conduct surveys in the loc language to see how they feel about the innovation we are working on and how we can integrate it into their lives. The solution will reduce drastically the effect of dumping plastic refuse in canals and will tend to help them with financial incentives as they are trained to drop plastic bottles into a Bins.

The goal of the solve challenge is to source for tech based solutions to urgent global problems. Our solution is tech based which combines app development and machine innovation. The problem our innovation is solving is the mess created by the use of plastic bottles. This problem is worldwide and is an urgent one.  our idea helps to solve the problem right from the grass root by giving individuals incentives for dumping their used plastic bottles in our solar bins using the mobile application ( binapp) on their phone. Solution meets technology.

Our innovation is at the prototype stage. We are still designing the the binapp and working on the physical solar powered bin machine. Testing and redesigning is still going on and writing codes for the program to run the system

Our innovation takes a different approach to the way plastic bottles are dispensed. We are combining different solutions and bringing it into a unit and virtually re-inventing the dustbin. It will change the way people view dumping of plastic bottles around the world.

We hope to deploy our solution to serve about 5 million people next year
