84% of current global fuel consumption is from fossil fuels while renewable fuels yield a mere 5%. This is an ominous statistic.

Ironically, China is both the largest consumer of fossil and renewable fuels. This shows the country's willingness to progress into sustainable economic practices. A feasible renewable solution appears to be lacking.

The European Commission's proposed fuel goals cannot be met by solar energy alone. That requires much hardware required and has emission impact itself during manufacturing. Thus, alternative means are needed.

Water hyacinth is a plant with a baffling multiplicity gene. This would significantly reduce the manpower needed to grow this plant into a global scale.

The key issue is running lab tests on how to optimise this plant into a usable fuel for existing power systems.

This project is aimed at the:

1. Global power needs of everyone

2. Ecosystems being decimated for fossil fuel production

3. Farming communities that need economic enhancements

Create scalable economic opportunities for local communities, including fishing, timber, tourism, and regenerative agriculture, that are aligned with thriving and biodiverse ecosystems

Explain how the problem you are addressing, the solution you have designed, and the population you are serving align with the Challenge.

When lands stop being exploited for fossil fuels, the ecosystems begin to rejuvenate and natural disasters are thereby reduced. This is only pragmatic if a substitute to current fuels is provided.

Renewable fuels curb exploitation and the subsequent impact to nearby habitations.
