Our research indicates under JW Eco-pavements, the soil moisture (21.5%) is more than twice that of soil and other permeable pavements, and the total organic carbon content (1.1%) is more than twice. JW Eco-pavements also show the best microbial activity (average well-color development) and diversity (Shannon evenness J).
Whereas clean water quality is proven with high dissolved oxygen (7.7mg/L) and low ammonia nitrogen contents.

Sustainable agriculture would be the most suitable industry for potential marginal groups to achieve self-sufficiency and prevent derivative risks caused by their weakened in economy, and water is very critical in agricultural development. With JW Eco-pavement, people in water-scarce areas can easily access to clean water. Zhangjiakou Project has demonstrated that JW Eco-Technology can provide the ecological function of agriculture and greening, as well as solve the problems of food shortage, habitats degradation, and climate refugees.

Water resources can be completely recycled and purified on-site, where one drop of water can be re-used numerous times, achieving sustainable water sources and establishing an ecological system and agriculture.
For example, the establishment of "sponge" community. Zhong Zheng Community was severely affected by flooding, but at the same time, it was also in need of sustainable water resources as well. ‘Since implementing JW Eco-Technology to construct underground reservoirs, ZhongZheng Community has never suffered from flooding, nor run out of water resources, the community is now an environmental education site.

Strong concrete surfaces reduce the chance of trees being blown down by strong wind. In addition, JW Eco-Technology can generate its own water and form an underground ecosystem, which can promote the growth of plants in the JW Eco Gravel layer and anchoring the soil, improving the survival rate of planting. The tree shade protects the concrete, so it can be applied to beaches or other rough terrains.

JW Eco-Technology is proved to be a new model of carbon capture and air purification on roads, able to capture more than 70% of CO2 emissions and other automobile pollutants within 20 minutes (Liu). JW Eco-Technology applies two different sized pipes which creates pressure difference and generates natural upward and downward air circulation. Pollutants and CO2 drop underground and are absorbed and utilized in the alkaline wetland environment. Our research showed the total organic carbon content (1.1%) under JW Eco-Pavement was more than twice that of soil and other permeable pavement. What JW Eco-Technology does is bring the carbon cycle back to normal, where CO2 is no longer a waste.
Compared with carbon reduction measures that have a negative impact on economic growth, JW Eco-Technology is a blue ocean strategy that actively prevents gases including CO2 from entering the atmosphere. Moreover, JW Eco-Technology is applied on roads that need renovation regularly, thus it has a minimum impact on existing economic behavior. JW Eco-Technology has also been certified as a "Low Carbon Method" by LCBA (Low Carbon Building Alliance). The carbon emission for the traffic lane and sidewalk using JW Eco-Technology are 1.93 and 1.36 kgCO2e/m2/yr, respectively, in terms of 78% and 84% reduction compared with the baseline value. It proves that JW Eco-Technology can effectively reduce the carbon footprint resulted in practical energy saving and carbon reduction.
