DNA Social Service
We are a solution focused service, Developing Nurturing and Advancing Africa through our PASS assessment model, teaching, and effective intervention.
1. As the Founder of DNA social service, I was born and raised in the UK and was privileged to have good education and qualify as a Social Worker having the responsibility to safeguard vulnerable children and adults as well as educate communities to and for development. I have identified Africa has huge Gaps in this field. There are no safeguarding principles or proactive services to help communities develop in Africa. Moreover there is a lack of education and there is no service to cater to social problems apart from independent NGOs. Where there is a lack of education, there is no development. Therefore we are committed to filling those social functioning Gaps in Africa by providing long lasting solutions and educating deprived communities on topics surrounding mental health, health and safety, social well-being and many more.
2. The solution to this problem will include both practical and theoretical interventions. Our service use a model referred to as "PASS" meaning Problem- We will identify the problem, Assessment - We will assess the problem through observation and research. Solution - We will create effective solutions by intervention that applies appropriately to that specific problem. Sustain - We will review the intervention consistently and ensure it is sustained. An example of a project the service are currently working on in Africa is a development project with a deprived community called "Jamestown". Jamestown has many young people who strive to be successful however because of poverty and lack of education they are not able to excel. Moreover there are alot of health hazards within that community. As a service our solution is to build a community wellbeing centre, which will provide free education, health advice hubs, and many more. This project will cost more than 10k, however with the support from the government and potential supporters We as a team have faith we can accomplish this goal. Moreover our service will provide training on health & safety and 1st aid in order for them to respond to health hazards appropriately as a community. This is just an example of what we are currently doing as a solution to what we want to solve.
3. Africa works in partnership with the whole world, and therefore once Africa is developed and Highly educated on the Gaps that currently exists, this will decrease the brain drain in Africa, there will be more educated leaders, more harmony and peace, it will decrease mass migration, asylum seeking, health hazards and many more. As a Black British I have benefited from education here in the UK, and would like to educate those in Africa as well as bring the awareness to them in many ways just as I have received.
- Personalized teaching, especially in disadvantaged communities
A service that concerns itself with individuals, families, and communities to enhance social functioning and overall well-being. Social functioning refers to the way in which people perform their social roles, and the structural institutions that are provided to sustain them. As a service we apply theoretical and practical ways of work through psychology, sociology and many more. In order to monitor, review and record this development effectively we will need high tech equipment to work with. The centres in which we plan to build will be heavily invested with technology that will contribute to the efficiency of the service.
Although my service is strictly concerned with social change, technology is vital in all that we do. to educate people in an effective manner. Theoretical explanations become boring to those who don't understand. Communities who lack education, You cannot present tough concepts clearly for them, as everyone learns differently. Technology has that power! Visual presentations, to deliver any type of lesson improves the level of comprehension within any development solution training. Above all we are in the 21st century, its about time we develop with technology. In order for deprived communities to develop they need to be exposed to technology.
1. To build a community wellbeing centre in JamesTown Accra Ghana, this will include access to internet, computers, health hubs, youth activity rooms, personal care rooms, teaching and training classes and many more - In order to achieve this goal, I need to develop a relationship with the community, build rapport by completing small projects with them, which I am currently doing.
2. To assess new deprived communities and create effective solutions just as above.
3. To influence government policies, associated with safeguarding, mental health awareness, and many more.
4. To become a service across Africa.
Africa is a massive continent which has no social service like the western world. With a Social Service implemented there will be massive improvement. My vision for the next 5 years is to have a Social Service in line with the government. To become a service across Africa. When there is crime people go to the police to solve their crimes. I want it to be such that when there is a social problem DNA Social Service is contacted to assess and intervene. This is my long term vision. It is about time Africa gets a social service.

The solution will be based at there front door, we as a service are going to them. They will access it within their community.
Jamestown Ghana has a population of 5000 people, this is where our first intervention is based. They will be the first to benefit from our first aid training, Health and wellbeing master classes, talent searching, community centre and many more. Globally this service has a huge audience to serve
The current population of individuals with lack of education in poor communities is extremely high, and therefore the service is extremely vital, these are potential future leaders and professionals we are serving. Not only will the service enhance their development, but cause a knock on effect, if one community is developed with high end technology, education, training and safeguarding interventions, it will surely gain interest from government officials and eventually create an ongoing service for the whole of africa. one step forward is a step to change.

We are positioned for long term sustainability because the long term goal of DNA social service is to become a legal service in Africa. A social service that is run under the government to solve social problems. The expansion will be to have a multi agency hub under DNA social service, every NGO will become a social work group ready to respond to any social case referred to our service.
Example: Poor man found neglected under bridge --> referred to DNA social service ---> assessment conducted ---> appropriate intervention planned ---> includes signposting to appropriate NGO's or partnership organisations to deal with case ----> case monitored and reviewed by DNA Social services---> case closed when at a good level of development.
Africa needs this service implemented. we are ready to put it into place with any other organisation with the same mindset.
As a NGO, and service I have never received any external support. Solve can advance my work and initiatives in many ways, this will be the first time I would receive advance response and support, which will benefit not only my team but the masses of people in the deprived communities we aim to aid and help through our service
Although we have the plans for the and gaps identified, it all needs funding. building a community wellbeing centre will cost a whole lot of money, one may ask why this centre is necessary, however As a service we have identified the problem and believe this will be a long lasting solution. Moreover, My team is just 4 people, solve will also help expand network whereby others who would love to support this service and potentially want to work with the service, solve will give us exposure.
