FCSP, Focused Concentrated Solar Power
Our compact magnified solar thermal system will boil water in a matter of minutes. The steam from the system can drive a steam turbine, generator, to create electrical energy. If the water source is sea water, the steam from the boiled sea water can then be condensed into potable drinking water within the same thermal cycle. The solar solution has an autonomous self-cleaning capability. If the area in which the user wishes to generate the electrical energy does not have a suitable water source, the base heliostat frame can be retrofitted with our proprietary Flat Plane wind turbines. The modular nature of the system allows it to be mounted on any flat surface and it can be configured for a single use or a utility based configuration. This system lends itself very well to providing power and clean water in 3rd world countries.
The problem we are attempting to solve is Climate Change and Water shortage, globally. All of our systems are designed to use renewable energy which will inevitably reduce the need for coal fired power plants.
To describe our solution in it's simplest form; imagine a copper tube filled with water, now focus the Sun's energy from say 20 magnifying glasses on that tube. The water within that tube will boil. Here is where we add significant efficiency to the system. The copper tube is flattened and coated with graphite to allow better thermal absorption. The copper tube is contained within a plastic is contained within a plastic tube, preventing heat from radiating into the atmosphere. The magnifying glasses are replaced by a linear hyperbolic lens that makes up the surface of the containment tube. This configuration is known as an Element. Six elements are joined, in a serpentine pattern within a Cell, the cell is about 6' X 6'. An infinite number of Cells can be plumbed together to create the required amount of power or desalinated water.
Our primary customer base will be Industrial Process Heating. If the fluid within the tubes is replaced with oil, the thermal capacity of the system will be considerably increased. The heated oil will then be used to supplement heating processes within the industrial environment. Institutions such as Hospitals, Universities, and Hotels can also benefit for the solar thermal power generation. This customer base is ideal because of the copious amount of unused roof area, which is ideal for mounting our systems. Once we have established a steady revenue stream, Elemental Dynamics will start making inroads to provide inexpensive power and drinking water to the less fortunate societies of the world. Many cities in India require water to be shipped in from other areas because their rivers and ground water has become so polluted. If we can place our system on the coast of India, we can start providing desalinated water for the country. With some research and testing, we may be able to use our system to pull water out of the polluted rivers and clean it up, making it drinkable. We can also use the solar to electrical power system to provide the energy necessary for a conventional reverse osmosis system.
- Create scalable economic opportunities for local communities, including fishing, timber, tourism, and regenerative agriculture, that are aligned with thriving and biodiverse ecosystems
India, the largest country population in the world , has already experiences Zero-Water-Day in some of it cities. Zero-Water-Day is the day in which the area has used the last o fits water supply and must now rely on the mercy of having water delivered to their community. India is not the only country in jeopardy, but its immediate need exemplifies our cause. If we provide these areas with a way to clean their ground and river water, we can save lives and improve living conditions.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model.
We have built and tested a feasibility system with off-the-shelf components. We have performed ray tracing simulations and physical testing on our desired lens configuration. WE have completed our paper designs, chosen our components and completed our bills of material and costing. We wrote a Business Plan and we attended and passed the Founder Institute training. With the mentorship of the Founder Institute, and a fully motivated and capable team, we are ready to build and test our first full scale MVP. We have identified and spoken with the machine shop that will machine our custom components. We have identified, spoken with and have the full support of a glass foundry that will help us make the lens. We have partnered with a contract manufacturing facility that will build our production systems. All we need now is financial support.
- A new technology
Our solution is innovative because:
* Although it is a CP system it uses magnification not reflection allowing us to keep the thermal receiver in a highly insulated enclosure
* The design or our lens and our thermal receiver Element allowed us to implement our autonomous cleaning feature to keep the lens at top efficiency
* The modularity, size and weight of the system allows for rooftop installations
* The versatility of the system allows for electrical power generation or water desalination with the same base system or wind to electrical energy generation with some simple modifications.

We do not currently have a fully operational system. Once we acquire the funding, we will move quickly to build the first fully functional system. Within the first year of production, we expect to secure 10 industrial basedcustomers and have the wind to electrical power system under construction. Within the next 5 years we expect to have a substantial solar power base with wind and wave power systems under test. We also hope to be in comminutions with government officials from India to start conversations on water desalination system deployment and testing.
Our systems will track weather and power production providing a compilation of data for forecasting and power production. Each system we install will measure the overall impact of the solution we are providing. We will also be able to extrapolate the amount of CO2 our system will displace.

James Peoples is an experienced machine designer, he has been on the project from the inception and has helped redesign and test every iteration. Scott Szewcyk has been in manufacturing his entire career, he has a strong background in supply chain management and production management as well as a very hand-on approach. Austin Sluder puts his military training and integrity into every aspect of his sales and marketing position, his energy is unparalleled. Patrick Wyse is a brilliant controls engineer who runs his own company but sees the potential in the FCSP so he lends his time and money to drive the initiative. David Allen, the founder of Elemental Dynamics, is an electrical engineer with an EMBA and a passion, boarding on obsession, for renewable energy.
Our management approach:
All voices are heard, all suggestions are considered
We do no see color or sex only contribution
We reward contribution equally
The management is a servant structure, we don't produce our employees do
- Organizations (B2B)
We are applying to become a Solver, for not only the funding, as mentioned, but for the recognition. If we win, as an MIT Solver, the recognition will go a long way for others to know that being vetted by the MIT group we must be worthy of review.
- Business model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Legal or Regulatory Matters
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
- Product / Service Distribution (e.g. expanding client base)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
We are primarily engineers, we have the ability to design, build and test a successful system, and we can write the documentation and design the processes to repeat. But, we are not going to be successful with a warehouse full of product, we need to get the word out, create the websites to provide the customers and potential customers with data, get everything possible patented, build our distribution centers and routs etc.
We are not currently aware of who would be available to support our initiative.

We are developing portable power and water desalination generation systems. Our goal is to ship these portable systems to areas in need and get them the necessary power and water they so desperately need. Our first MVP system will be tailorable so we will immediately know the capability of one cell on wheels.

The data that our systems will generate, from locations all over the world, will provide enough information to view, in real-time, weather and solar power generation. This data will allow us to understand where the best places migh be to install micro-grid solutions and water generation stations.
