S-Bus

The problem I am committed to solving is equitable classroom with interest in provision of safe and quality education.

The S-Bus is a mobile school bus and not like  other buses, it is solar powered, it will use Solar energy with the help of stationary solar panels with photovoltaic cell that will convert the suns energy into electricity that will power and propel the vehicle. 

         It has a 60 persons Capacity with the use of an interactive  board and a class room response system as the teaching facility. 

   It also has a security system with alarm starters and buttons that trigger alarms when pressed to easily alert security agencies, cameras to monitor and send data and videos wirelessly from the bus to control rooms via wifi router and a GPS location tracker.

The S-Bus will effectively provide quality, safe and equitable learning environment aiming to achieve the SDGs towards education 

Security is an important factor in education around the world. The solution I will be putting forth is after putting the entire world into consideration. 

According to a recent survey by UNICEF, the number of out of school children in Nigeria has increased by 2.7 million, making it the largest number around the world. Most children here are out of school while some have never been to school. 

    Owing to Sociocultural and Socioeconomic factors, and other structural vulnerabilities, thousands of Children in Nigeria may never attend school. Education for all is exceedingly challenging in Nigeria. For example, A safe school is quite a myth in Boko Haram rampaged Northeast and now bandits' layfield, the Northwest zone. (Relief web)

      Nigerian kids face life threatening situations in their quest to access education. This  country already had a problem of out of school Children that is now worsened by renewed insecurities making it very difficult to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals geared towards education.

"S-Bus" is a bus that will utilise solar energy from the sun to power the electric equipment on the bus. It will have batteries which are rechargeable by solar energy. There will be installations of stationary solar panels with photovoltaic cell(solar cells). The solar cell will convert suns energy directly into electricity by the photovoltaic effect Which will be used by the engine to power, propel and move the bus. 

       Inside the "S-Bus" has a 60 persons capacity and the main teaching facility is an interactive Board that will also be solar powered. It comes along with a classroom response system. The teachers are to teach from wherever they are, present material and also receive feedback from students in order to direct instruction more effectively or else to carry out formal assessments. 

    The security system of the "S-Bus" comprises of alarm starters mounted on the device with an alarm button to trigger the alarm devices placed in the bus and also in a nearby security post, cameras to monitor and send data and videos  transferred wirelessly from the bus to monitoring room via a wifi router and a GPS location tracker that will determine it's geographical position and location 24/7.

this project is targeted towards remote and rural areas. It provides free education and it is very safe as security is an important factor in education. Thousands of children are no longer in school due to the security challenges in the country, parents are scared to send their kind to school with the fear of them getting kidnapped or killed. 

  As education is an important factor in our lives, "S-Bus"is dedicated towards providing education for these less privileged children, it will also assure parents of the safety of their kids.

When utilised properly, the "S-Bus" will reduce the number of out of school children in the country.

This challenge has to do with equitable classroom, how young learners can have access to quality safe  and equitable learning enivironment.  

The "S-Bus" will:

1) it will provide quality education for young learners.

2) it will provide a safe learning enivironment.

3) it will provide equality in education irrespective of wealth, gender, ethnicity or geographic location.

4) provide free education for the less privileged. 

Hence, providing a solution to equitable classroom 

 S-Bus is an idea, an innovation. it is an individual solution that I sat down and came up with using my STEM knowledge. I don't have the fund needed to make this project a reality and I hope by this means, I will get such funds. 

S-Bus will bring education to areas affected by insecurities and also remote areas that have never had schools. it will also help in climate change as it utilises solar energy. The S-Bus: 

• Is more cost-effective or efficient
• Increases reach and potential beneficiaries
• Reaches new beneficiaries that would not have been reached otherwise
• Provides a more holistic, community-lead, or sustainable solution to equitable education. 
• Increases outcomes
• Targets a completely new area particularly rural and remote locations. 
• Provides security and safety for young learners.

About 5000 young learners in 5years from remote locations in Nigeria.

the goal of this innovation is to provide quality education(SDGs 4) and not just quality education, to provide safe, quality and equitable education.

In the next five years, 5000 people plan to been impacted, approximately 1000 per year.
