in Ghana there is a great divide in the access to quality education. Majority of students and pupils do not have access to quality education, mostly due to several factors. One major factor is the lack of teachers in some rural and underserved urban areas.
EduGhana provides a platform where students and pupil can access qualified tutors and other learning materials on their smart devices. We provide live lessons with professional teachers, video repository of lessons for later viewing and online tutors for various subjects and levels.
Access to quality education is not just a Ghanaian Phenomena, but a global challenges. if EDUGhana is scaled globally it can provide access to quality education to all individuals and help in addressing the SDG goal four, which seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Edu Ghana is a project developed by the early bird technologies limited as a social intervention to help address the gap in the access to quality education.
In Ghana, there are many individual students and pupil without access to quality education. Several schools are under resourced, leading to constant and persistent poor performance.
Edu GHANA intend to convert smart devices into a mobile classroom, were every Ghanaian child can access quality tuition from qualified tutors ready to answer all their questions.
EDUghana is a mobile platform developed in the form of web app and highly responsive website, created to provide students with the resources needed to facilitate their education. Lessons are prepared and developed online, with option to download and watch later.
qualified and experienced teachers are always available to provide extra tuition needed. We also provide an online library for students where students can research.

We are currently piloting the project with two senior High schools in Ghana

Our team comprise of five full time staff(website designer, development educator, economist, accountant and senior educator), with 13 freelance high school tutors.
Early bird technologies was running a program with St. Anne's Girls Senior High School in Ghana West Africa. The project was providing young girls with employable skills in I.T to prepare them for the freelance job market as a means of supporting themselves in tertiary institutions. The project came to halt due to the pandemic.
in other to continue the project, we resorted to the creating a website and an online mobile platform that enabled us to have live classes, send audiovisual materials to students. The school management contacted our team to expand the platform to over tuition for their final years students.
with the platform subject tutors were able to deliver live lessons to students prepare, and for students in rural areas all materials were available on their portal to download on a later date. Teachers were online for three hours every day to respond to questions of students.
St. Cyprian Minor Seminary also later resorted to allow their tutors and final year students join the platform. We had excellent reviews. Our team is currently working on a robust platform that we can launch nation wide for both base and second cycle institutions.
For all social enterprise diversity and inclusivity is central in all aspect of the project cycle. Since projects are developed to society, special attention should be paid to making sure that team members are derived from almost all social strata.
At every bird technologies, every project from the conceptualization stage to the implementation stage diversity is considered. the heterogeneity in Ghana society are mostly found in the areas of religion, gender and ethnicity. Inter tribal marriages and urbanization have almost invariably created a more universal culture making the effects of ethnicity much more minimal.
However, with religion and gender, there is still much variation, that needs to accounted when developing a project. There are two major religions in Ghana, that have very distinct beliefs system and gender roles.
With EDGhana, the project leadership comprises of five individuals. Each being an highly knowledge in their fields and meet the our diversity goal. Our comprises two Muslims(male and female), two Christians (male and female) and one not so religious individual (male).
