Science in your community
We spread science and technology to kids and teenagers from vulnerable sectors in Peru in STEAM using E-Learning
Science in your Community aims to develop kids and teenagers as change agents in order to solve problems that are part of their enviroment, using scientific knowledge through activities based on STEAM and easy and adaptable access e-learning methods and also complete the process with presential activities.
Despite all, with the pandemic states, the world digital gap is still affecting this sector academic's training, not only in basic education but also in some higher level institutions that had to close their doors due to the current sanitay crisis, stopping scientific researchs.
This also involve to teachers who do not have technologic resources in order to give a didactic virtual class. Following this path, we also give educational services that complete their learning y profesional development.
Peru is actually in the last position in science areas from all Latinamerica, this fact reflects that there is not a government plan to enhance this situation as we only invest 3.9% of GDP in education. Therefore in order to contribute with country's development Science in your Community seeks to spread science to kids and teenagers especially from vulnerable sectors in Peru aiming to develo change agents that will impact directly in their communities. Also, we complete academic training for students and teachers through services based in e-learning methodology and STEAM, with an easy and suitable access. This has been boosted with the actual sanitary crisis.
Science in you community contributes developing an inclusive scientific culture with opportunities to access a quality and engaged science education, using activities based on STEAM principles aimed to divulge basic science for kids and teenagers, scientific difusion for young and teachers training.
We are a community that allows to spread science using presential and online education in a amusing and easy to understand way specially prepared for kids with difficulties to acceed to education or that have special abilities including teenagers that has small resources to acceed to this kind of education.
Which process and tecnology we use?
We spread science and technology to kids and teenagers using e-learning and STEAM based courses, specially for vulnerable sectors, in order to encourage and develop change agents.

What we have achieved:
K-12 with low economic resources and special abilities.
Science specialized teachers.
Our first action was giving scientific workshops to all the kids in Haqary Llaqta which is a rural town in El Agustino, Lima, Peru. In this workshops we imparted amusing and didactic physics and chemistry experiments. The first workshop was based on showing matter states to all the kids using interactive experiments.
Science in your community since its beginning, train kids from 6 to 10 years old living in different rural small towns through didactic workshops, in there we use amusing and interactive experiments.
Before the actual joint, Science in your Community was fully in focus to make science workshops to small kids, however, after the COVID’s arrival to Peru we needed to reinvent ourselves. Science in your Communiy adapted to the actual pandemic situation. The actual joint turned into an opportunity for us to restructure our teaching methodology for kids, young and teacherswith our own resources. We are engaged on building a more reality aware community, which is one of science principles. Without science there is no future. Therefore Science in your Community, since March 2021 develops the following activities:
Learning Management Systems Webinars, in where we train basic and high school teachers in agile methodologies. This webinars are organized and done exclusively by Science in your Community.
Scientific Investigation Methodologies Webinars, in which we train college and institute young students about different actual methodologies for investigation.
Learning Management Systems coorganized with some local institutions such as Lima’s City Hall (STEM Area), Educate for Peru (Foundation) and Social Responsibility Organization from National Engineering University.
Our future plans:
Mainly keep impacting in kids’ education, specially the ones located in vulnerable sectors, aiming to turn them into change agents in their communities and also train college and institute young students in order to enhance their investigation knowledge. The challenge we have is to make people to understand that science is not a hard issue to handle or that is a way out of their leagues. We show them that through experimentation and observation we can solve problems that are tightly bonded with normal and daily life
- Enable access to quality learning experiences in low-connectivity settings—including imaginative play, collaborative projects, and hands-on experiments.
We face mainly the enhancement of education for kids and youngs with low economic resources and special abilities through digital teaching based on science.
- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in one or, ideally, several communities, which is poised for further growth.
We have a community that generates income and we have tested the business model in different regions of Peru, as well as outside the country.
- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
For the science workshops we use the E-Learning and STEAM methodology, collaborative work and gamification to engage children who connect in our science workshops, this is achieved through experiments applied to real life. We also connect young university students or technicians, who can be trained in the use of technological platforms and scientific simulators, to primary and secondary school teachers who teach science courses. On the other hand, we connect professionals with extensive experience in the research area with students who are conducting research to teach research methodology topics. This has allowed us to offer services or courses to students, teachers and parents; where they are not only acquiring the service.
This has allowed us to benefit more than 3000 children, 5000 teachers and 4000 young people not only in Peru but also in Latin America. We have also provided services of virtual science parties to bring not only knowledge but also fun during the learning process.

The Science in your community team
Our team is well positioned to offer this solution due to a successful track record of creating and developing innovative educational programs. Within our team, one of our members started the first Hawaii-centered public charter school (PK-12) since 2000. The enrollment is 80 +% Native Hawaiian. In addition, this school was able to obtain WASC-HAIS accreditation. Other team members have business experience and can provide administrative support. Our software developer is highly skilled in the creation and implementation of our online learning management systems. As a team, we cover all aspects to have a successful launch this fall 2020.
At Science in your Community we aim to change lives through science. Science literacy is a right for everyone, and for science in your community, we focus on
science outreach for students with special needs such as Down Syndrome and Asperger's Syndrome.
Asperger's Syndrome, belonging to the SAANEE program of the National Police of Peru, it is a challenge to be able to do it virtually, without being able to do it in a virtual way, without

We have a clear purpose to bring science in a simple and innovative way, using the E-Learning methodology, to all sectors, whether focused on vulnerable sectors, or focused on vulnerable

- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We seek to contribute to the development of a scientific and inclusive culture with opportunities to access a quality education committed to the teaching and learning of science, through activities with a STEM approach aimed at the dissemination of basic science in children and adolescents, scientific dissemination for young people and teacher training.
