T-share
Teachers from all over the world are struggling to teach online with traditional teaching methods. As a result, student engagement suffers as they are not maximizing their potential. T-share is a social-collaborative platform where teachers can easily find engaging planning lessons and pedagogical resources shared by colleagues who have proven to motivate their students in their learning process, so other teachers can replicate their impact. In this way, if T-share is scaled globally, teachers will have access to the content of the best teachers around the world, so it's easier for them to adapt and evolve their classrooms in order to satisfy student's needs and promote a real change in education.
Teachers from all over the world are struggling to teach online with old-school teaching methods. In fact, according to Unesco, 81% of teachers feel unprepared to teach online. This added to the fact that 6 out of 10 teachers are feeling overworked and underappreciated (National Union of Teachers) and, on top of that, they have a wage penalty of USD 7,500 (The Global Teacher's Status Index), we can affirm that the school system is living a pandemic on its own which is negatively impacting the quality of education.
T-share is a revolutionary online platform that combines training with social media interactions to support teachers to:
- Uplevel their classes.
- Reduce their workload.
- Increase their job satisfaction. We achieve this with our:
Community: an open collaboration platform where teachers can share and filter activities by course, subject, 21st-century skill, and additional-curricular information. Also, they can follow their favorite teachers, comment on the activities and even edit them to promote continuous improvement.
Academy: a marketplace of online courses created by universities, and other educational organizations to promote lifelong learning skills in teachers, who later share their new knowledge with the community.
Also, we give 10% of our profits to the teachers who create more value in the community, recognizing and incentivizing them to share their content in the community.
Our solution serves k-12 school teachers. The main factor why teachers don't innovate more in their classrooms is because they are feeling overworked which translates into having no time to create new material, and also because they are unmotivated to do classes differently since they don't have other professionals references of success. We understood this by interviewing and being in the classroom with more than a hundred teachers who helped us getting into this stage of T-share. Our solution addresses these issues by decreasing their workload with ready-to-use lessons provided by other teachers with proven results and increasing their motivation thanks to our incentive system, which allows them to uplevel their classes and co-create meaningful learning experiences.
- Support teachers to adapt their pedagogy, facilitate personalized instruction, and communicate with students and their families in remote and hybrid settings.
T-share aligns with supporting teachers to adapt their pedagogy by providing the community and training needed to support teachers in their professional development journey with a model that incentives and recognizes their efforts to update their teaching methods, and by creating network effects needed to truly make a larger impact in education.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model.
We received USD$40,000 of government funds to develop the platform, and we have piloted it in 14 different schools in the Metropolitan Region of Chile.
We also launched the Academy a month ago with the first online course that is generating revenue in order to validate our business model.
- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
We provide a unique share-to-learn experience, combining training with social media interactions and incentives to uplevel teacher's skills.
As part of our business model, access to the community is free for any teachers who want to become a member, and we create different streams of revenue that allow us to give 10% of our profits to our best content/activity creators in order to scale the community of teachers.

The founder studied business engineering and has a master's degree in innovation and design, which led her to found Odisea, a non-profit organization that empowers children to become problem solvers through design thinking and gamification tools. Because of this experience, which helped her to deeply understand the school system and the teacher's struggles -and since 1 teacher can impact almost 2.000 students throughout their careers- in 2019 she decided to create T-share.
Also, the team is composed of our sales and operations officer, who has experience working in the education and training industry, having the necessary skills to leverage our value proposition to schools and school districts and bring T-share to the next level.
Our team is female-led, and our goal is to create a company culture where everyone feels included, and encouraged to bring their unique selves into work.
- Organizations (B2B)
We want to learn from the experience and collaborate with other social impact leaders and have access to the MIT network. Also, we would really appreciate receiving strategic advice from experts.
- Business model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Legal or Regulatory Matters
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
We need support to continue developing the platform and the incentive system through data, and also the adaptation of the platform to the US curriculum and branding positioning.
We could partner with MIT to provide new online courses for teacher's professional development in the platform, and also we could begin working on our own dataset of activities to use in the future to train a machine learning model that could help us match the curriculum of the activities between countries.
