Schools United
Education first. Schools must be able to share information between each other to advance society.
The goal of this project is to create blockchain profiles for students, educators, and schools. These profiles can then be utilized to discover learning styles, teaching styles, effective rules that other schools can implement.
These student profiles will store grades and complete transcript, school lunch balances, learning style, previous teachers, previous schools, disabilities, test scores, and notes from previous teachers. The educator profiles will include teaching style, schools they have worked at, average test score of their students in the subject they teach, rules imposed on their class, their curriculum, and teaching materials. The school profile will include number of students, location, rules imposed on students and teachers, type of campus, average test scores of students, list of teaching styles in order of most common.
All of this information will be stored in an Ethereum smart contract and will be able to be accessed by anyone. Due to confidentiality reasons, the student profiles will only be owned by the students themselves and they will be able to share them with their educators and school they attend.
Only educators and schools will have the power to modify student profiles so that their profiles are kept accurate. Every year, teachers will post about the learning style of students.
Teachers and schools will constantly update their profiles to explain what is successful. For example, teachers and schools can group students in their classrooms with others of similar learning styles based on the profiles of each student. If schools find that this method is successful, they can explain their findings. All of the styles will be ranked, so that other schools can see the most effective way to teach their students.
In this manner, this project is a way for teachers to learn together how to teach more effectively. In addition, it will allow students and educators to seamlessly transfer to other schools but keep all of the information they gathered that would be otherwise wasted if they leave the school district.
- Supportive ecosystems for educators
- Personalized teaching, especially in disadvantaged communities
In my experience as a student, the information on students greatly lacks. We can sign into computers and get lunch, but those are two separate systems. In addition, every year students get new teachers and they have to renew their information about each other and lose a lot of what the previous teacher taught. With this system of information, nothing will be lost year to year, or through a move. In addition, people around the world can learn from the experiences of others.
This solution relies on the secure, fast, and shareable backend of the Ethereum blockchain. By utilizing this technology, school around the world can connect to each other and discover the most efficient teaching styles and materials. It is essentially a database, and is 100% dependent on Ethereum smart contracts.
The majority of the time will be spent developing the smart contract. All of the profiles and rules on creating new ones will need to be created and then thoroughly vetted to prevent bugs in the future. While that is happening, we will also begin reaching out to schools to gather interest.
Smart contracts are meant to be final. So in the next 3-5 years, we plan on having our completed smart contract and all we will need to worry about is integrating more schools. We can also move onto helping educate teachers based upon the most effective teaching styles that have been discovered through the system.

To reach more students we will contact school districts and recruit them to the system. As a member of the smart contract, they will be able to easily create profiles for their students and teachers for management. They will also be able to share with other schools. Our philosophy is that education should come first, and business second, and that will appeal to schools and the benefits will keep them in.
At the moment, it is still in the idea phase and not serving anyone.
In twelve months we will have the beta released for schools to utilize. We plan on gathering 10 schools to test out our system and prove its functionality. In 3 years when the final production is released, we will be able to scale much more quickly and gather 500 schools.

I am a student, and since I am a student, I know what students want. I know how schools work and I know how students think, so the product will be applicable. Being a student, I have a lot of peers and will be able to quickly gather feedback and help on the product.
The system is completely non-profit. However, there still are costs. Smart contracts cost money to submit, so the fee of the smart contract is what we will charge the schools. In the future when we begin hosting classes, we will charge money for those in order to continue to provide the service.
Solve is an organization that will help me improve schools. I need help with outreach and development of lasting smart contracts. I believe that partnering with Solve will enable me to expand the product to a greater reach with more viable technology.
The key barrier is programming the smart contract. Everything relies upon this contract and it will require a lot of work. I have a little experience with smart contracts, but not on a commercial scale. In addition, getting schools to partner with the system will be a challenge. Solve will be able to help bridge connections and spread the word in addition to establishing good practices in the organization.
