CFSK K-12 education system solution
Lack of ICT resources for e-learning in refugee camps and rural areas has led to a wide disconnect for primary and secondary schools students. Subject teachers frequently report difficulties which many students experience in developing an understanding of certain concepts. Students sometimes appear to struggle to construct the forms of models and conceptual representations needed to understand and comprehend the actions of the unobservable entities. Using CFSK K-12 education system solution, teachers and students can sit under a tree in Turkana and still have access to educational resources, pre-Primary to University. It is an efficient, cost-effective way to deliver massive amounts of content to classrooms starved for resources.
Schools children need access to information - the RIGHT kind of information. They also need to know how to utilize and apply what they have learned. CFSK K-12 education system solution will deliver the content cheaply and effectively.
Many schools in refugee camps and marginalized rural areas lack ICT resources for e-learning purposes. This has led to a wide digital divide and disconnect for primary and secondary schools students from these communities. Subject teachers frequently report difficulties which many students experience in developing an understanding of certain concepts. Students sometimes appear to struggle to construct the forms of models and conceptual representations needed to understand and comprehend the actions of the unobservable entities.
CFSK intend to partner with the MIT Solve to deploy an affordable, flexible, and content rich K-12 education system to primary and secondary schools in Dadaab and Kauma refugee camps in Kenya.
It involves a powerful off-line server that provides a “classroom in a box” for classrooms which have limited resources. With the solution, teachers and students can sit under a tree in Turkana and still have access to educational resources, pre-Primary to University. It is an efficient, cost-effective way to deliver content to classrooms starved for resources.
The server is loaded with software acting like an off-line Internet for educational materials. Additionally the server can be customized to reflect or accommodate local content, culture and interests.
The server is really rugged it can work all day on a single charge, a plus where power is an intermittent commodity. Up to 40 devices (Laptops or tablets) can connect to multiple sites at the same time. And this server withstands heat and dust, cannot be fried by power surges, is not compromised by power outages, and has few moving parts to minimize maintenance.
Moreover, as an off-line product, it protects users from destructive viruses, ISIL propaganda, and unsuitable content.
We are focusing on schools and students in Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps. Students from pre-primary, primary and secondary schools. These schools are starved from or have very limited access to resources including content and technologies that will assist them in accessing educational content.
We are currently working with LWF a global communion of 148 churches in the Lutheran tradition, representing over 77 million Christians in 99 countries. LWF in partnership with the UNHCR did a research on the schools in refugee camps in Kenya. They did a report that show how deprived these schools are from resources.
In partnership with the LWF we deployed the CFSK e-learning solution that proofed to be very effective in terms of teacher and student engagement as well as content delivery.
The deployment of the K-12 education solution will facilitate access to content and students will be able to improve in developing an understanding of certain concepts. They will be able to construct the forms of models and conceptual representations needed to understand and comprehend the actions of the unobservable entities

- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in one or, ideally, several communities, which is poised for further growth.
We have deployed this solution to a number of marginalized schools across Nanyuki, Nairobi and Machakos counties in Kenya. And we are seeking for support to deploy more of this solution to schools located in Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps.
