School closures due to Covid-19 pandemic impacted around 250 million students in sub-Saharan Africa, adding to the 100 million out of school children before the pandemic. Learning completely stopped for most of them, which has already reduced their lifelong earning potential. Millions are unlikely to ever return to the classroom especially the underprivileged.
The World Bank estimates school closures lasting five months will lower the lifetime earnings ofthese children by a total of $10 trillion. To date, 188 countries have imposed countrywide school closures, affecting more than 1.5 billion children and youth (UNSDG, 2020).
We want to close that gap by developing a cheap and affordable online education platform which use artificial intelligence for both the privileged and underprivileged.
