This solution addresses the issue of virtual interaction between educators and learners in a hybrid or fully online learning environment. This also intend to aide our educators worldwide to effectively deliver their teaching materials (digital or traditional) through different modes of online learning and communication platform as well as digital broadcasting systems. Almost all existing online learning systems right now features virtual whiteboard or annotator function that allows both sides to interact not only by voice and audio but also by handwriting. This function is an important feature of a traditional classroom. With digitizers, Educators and Learners utilizing non-touch devices like PC and Laptops will be able to interact fully online with Voice, Audio and Handwriting. Visualizers will allow lecturers to teach online using printed material or object samples giving them more time in teaching rather than material preparation. This allows them to interact online same way in traditional classrooms

What specific problem are you solving?

This solution specifically addresses the issue of interaction between educators and learners online and in hybrid learning set up. As of the moment, common practices of educators during online teaching is utilizing Audio, Video and screen sharing features of a certain platform. Students on the hand with their Phone, Tablet, Laptop or PC listens and watches as lecturers flips their PPT slides. This current practice lacks one very important factor, the ability to discuss ideas and problems using whiteboard and handwriting. Low Cost Digitizer will be able to address this issue as virtual whiteboard functions already present in these platforms. Another problem that this solution would like to address is the issue on number of hours spent by educators in studying the use of PPT's as well as converting printed materials to digital format. As we all know before the pandemic starts, many of our educators still uses books and objects to deliver lessons. Now with changes brought by Pandemic, these educators especially in Asian countries are forced to learn and spend additional hours in preparing digital teaching contents. With Visualizer, educators will be able to bring printed materials into their online sessions with minimal hours of preparation.

What is your solution?

This solution offers two set of devices for educator (Visualizer Tab) and learners (Inking Tab). Visualizer Tab captures live images of printed books and live objects while the educator shares it live online or through a broadcasting platform. While the live images are being broadcasted, educators can annotate and draw on the images when emphasizing on the specific part of the feed. They can also open a whiteboard screen anytime to expand or discuss further the ideas taken from the projected images of books or objects. Inking Tab on other hand lets learners interact with the educator through handwriting or whiteboarding. Visualizer Tab utilizes CMOS Camera for image capture while Inking Tab uses EMR (Electro Magnetic Resonance) to digitize handwriting .

This solution is intended for countries that mostly rely on traditional method of teaching like countries with in ASIA and Africa. With this technology, it will help lecturers to transition from traditional teaching practices in to modern ways with out compromising on their teaching contents that they would like to deliver to their students. They can combine traditional teaching materials like books and objects into online teaching platforms..

As many countries struggle to keep their education system running amidst the continuous effects of Covid-19 Pandemic, many other countries had already given up on the idea of online or hybrid learning. With the proposed solution, educators from the affected countries will have a new option to bring their contents to the online learning system with very changes on their practices. All the necessary tools like printed books, objects and whiteboard will now be present even on their online class sessions, making their online classroom environment much more interactive than ever. This in turn will increase the overall effectivity rate of online learning for most of the currently affected of pandemic lockdown countries.
