ICT for Improving Education quality
As the problems of skills mismatch are closely associated with the more general problems affecting the quality education, including high unemployment, increasing inequality and lack of decent work opportunities, and these are for women and girls in general and particularly for rural women and girls, in this project is designed as a solution for improving the quality education, the professional computer science training programs for the rural young women and girls, and this will changes lives especially for rural gender female, women and girls will improve their social recognition by creating their own business, they will get the place in workplace, there will be more jobs creation in rural communities and increasing of the technology companies number in rural areas. Technology companies or technology materials market can have place in rural areas.
in Burundi country one of the east African countries, in general, lack of quality education and skills mismatch are causing a lot of problems for gender female and particularly for marginalized rural young women and girls, including high unemployment, increasing inequality and lack of decent jobs opportunities, due to the low quality of education in ICT for rural young women and girls, they are not considered in workplace, they are rejected and this conducts to an increase female poverty. They are marginalized and still play a predominantly domestic role in society. Rural young women therefore do not have a valued place in the workplace. 90% of women and girls in rural areas in BURUNDI country have not an idea about the information technology, many girls can even finish studies without any skills in information technology, this situation causes a lot of problems because when it comes to the demand for employment, they are asked as candidates if they have at least the computer skills and when it's about doing business online or with internet it becomes more difficult, the reason why young rural girls fail for jobs and businesses and we see the unemployment of young people in general and particularly for young girls
Is designed as solution, the professional computer science training programs for the rural young women and girls that is to say for the 150 young women and girls. These programs will provide computer science training to finalist students girls from public and private schools in rural areas and young unemployed young women, considering the skills needed by employers. Given that even the survey that has been carried out, has shown that with the increase in computer knowledge in rural areas can be useful for the development of skills and increase the quality of formal or informal education in rural areas because some say that with the internet you learn a lot and you can achieve a lot of things.
as we work with people in rural areas in general and particularly for rural women and girls, in this solution we will work with the rural girls’ students and school dropouts’ young women, as we work in rural areas as our team, we know what rural girls and young women face and we know that in rural areas good quality education and skills development are needed in general and particularly for rural girls and young women. This solution addresses their needs because in rural areas the girls and young women are missing jobs opportunities and skills development because of lacking knowledge in ICT competencies.
- Increase the engagement of learners in remote, hybrid, and physical environments, including strategies and tools for parental support, peer interaction, and guided independent work.
the problem, solution, and our solution’starget population relate to the Challenge and selected dimension, because as the challenge and selected dimension is about strengthening competencies, particularly in digital literacy, for girls and young women to effectively transition from education to employment, even our service or work,as described above concerns to develop skills of rural young women and girls in digital inclusion in order to facilitate them in workplace to ensure a good quality of education in rural areas. Let us mark that is also increasing the number of girls and young women participating in formal and informal learning and training
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model.
we have selected the stage of development because we had already started with one of the municipalities of Gitega province called Bugendana, after integrating this program as the evening course for 100 young girls in computer science, it was a good experience, unfortunately the support was not effective, for this reason the activities did not last long but it was concluded that with the perfect partners, it would be better to resolve the lack of quality of education in the rural community.
- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
The solution is innovative because in our country, rural female gender is not motivated in in ICT because of the lack of support and training Programs, and lack technology companies and technology materials markets, but with awareness in ICT in rural areas in general and particularly for rural women and girls, this can develop technology materials markets and companies and increase jobs opportunities in rural communities that is why we describe this solution as innovative and it will be something special for improving the quality education.
