STEM EDUCATION
Women lack of access to education and economic empowerment is the major reason they are often been marginalized. BeEagle believe that empowering women through STEM education can abolish gender inequality subordination and marginalization that women face in the society. We provide hands-on science technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning activity involving multi-disciplinary STEM learning tools. We teach and lead girls by showing them how science and mathematics are integrated into engineering and technology as well as encourage and inspire students to pursue post-secondary education and careers in scientific and technical fields by hosting STEM workshops that foster their interest and create supplementary programs and encourage implementation of STEM programs at the schools that supports these students and encourage them to view science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as a tool to instill innovative and problem solving skills.
We believe that empowering women through STEM education can abolish gender inequality subordination and marginalization that women face in the society. Our vision is of a world where women receive the same educational access and opportunities as men. Moreover 80% of indigenous peoples of Nigeria girls age 6-16 years old lacks access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and related opportunities prevents them from developing technologically; therefore, as the world depends more on science and technology, the need for STEM education for all girls will be critical in the coming decades. We believe that empowering women through STEM education can abolish gender inequality, subordination and marginalization. The BeEagle believes we must provide resources, training and programs that enable, encourage, and support women’s education and economic opportunities and that integrate young women and young men into a mutually supportive economical and educational environment and as a result overcome socio-cultural and economic barriers such as poverty, gender inequality, lack of access of to education and opportunities.
We provide hands-on STEM learning activity involving multi-disciplinary STEM learning tools such as rocket kits (a launch-able rocket kit) and airplane kits, which can be flew. BeEagle focused all of its efforts on creating innovative solutions and projects that address two primary concerns, economic development and gender equality. We teach and lead kids and students by showing them how science and mathematics are integrated into engineering and technology. To encourage and inspire students to pursue post-secondary education and careers in scientific and technical fields by hosting STEM workshops that foster their interest. To create supplementary programs and encourage implementation of STEM programs at the schools that supports these students.
Our vision is to empower the 80% of indigenous Nigerians age 6-25 years old. The project is about engaging young Nigerians in a technically advanced, hands-on construction project to inspire them to dream of future careers in aviation, engineering, space technology and other science and technology related fields. The student's efforts will also help foster an interest in aviation among parents, teachers, business persons, and community leaders. The STEM project will provide students the opportunity to engage in all facets of building an experimental kit aircraft. The project will cover many facets of aviation including aerodynamics, aircraft construction techniques, interpreting drawings and blueprints, aviation licensing and regulations, and safety; all while developing problem-solving and leadership skills. STEM project emphasizes integrating science and technology learning with other disciplines and helps students relate them to each other better by working on real-world hardware. This project is very important because it provides a way for developing nations to spur meaningful development in science and technology through hands-on experience. It will encourage local industrialization and open opportunities for the students participating in the project. This project is about touching lives and inspiring nations towards positive change and genuine development. BeEagle aims to motivate and restore a sense of hope among these young women and girls who will engage on levels that are beyond many people’s daily life experience in Nigeria. The project will speed up technological development in Nigeria by providing the nation’s students with the hands-on skills necessary to contribute to technological and economic growth. STEM project is a hands-on project that helps train the next generation of STEM professionals by teaching students how to build rockets and aircraft kits .The aircraft, when finished, can be made available to meet current national needs, such as border patrol, public safety, agriculture, and others.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
Awarra Court Area is among the areas most devastated by conflict. It lies in the South Eastern Nigeria. Awarra court area is highly infiltrated by poverty and unfortunately has been used to oppress and disadvantage the women, young children. Moreover, 1000 girls will benefit from this innovation. The situation for many women is worsened by poor access to education, as well as society’s restrictive gender norms.
- A new application of an existing technology
What makes BeEagle so innovative is the learning activity involving multi-disciplinary STEM learning tools such as rocket kits ( a launch-able rocket kit) and airplane kits, which can be flew. Students are taught how science and math are integrated into engineering and technology, encourage and inspire students to pursue post-secondary education and careers in scientific and technical fields and to create supplementary programs and encourage implementation of STEM programs at the schools that support these students and encourage them to view science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as a tool to instill innovative and problem solving skills.

At the moment,We currently serving 900 sudents as our soft STEM-launch pilot project. Founded in 2018 as our launch year, we plan to keep enrollment between 1000-1500 beneficiaries to provide maximum quality during our developmental stages. The first three years will be similar so that we can provide detailed learning experiences. Expansion during this time will be at most 2000-2500 active beneficiaries.
This measurement will build off the success and learning from the BeEagle STEM evaluation processes. In the first year we will develop a logic model to identify quantitative and qualitative indicators to demonstrate successful advancement of our short-, intermediate-, and long-term outcomes for change at the individual, organizational, community, and systems levels for our theory of change over the five-year grant period. The evaluation design will apply mixed methodologies to capture and share qualitative case studies of significant developments across the life of the grant. We also plan to co-create a publicly available dashboard to track indicators in real time, building off past efforts to share and interact with locally available, disaggregated data. We also anticipate the need for our evaluation to be flexible and adaptable. We will likely employ performance monitoring to ensure the quality of our progress and employees; process evaluation to map the strategy impact; and outcome evaluation to be sure that our model is regenerative.

Our team is well-positioned to deliver this solution because of the successful track record of creating and developing innovative STEM programs. BeEagle have a proven record of completing grants in excellent standing and have exhibited high levels of community leadership. Our project will implement suggested actions from the Robert Foundation's 'Take Action' series, which provides resources for actions like ours, along with suggested community actions, that are research based and recommended by field experts. These are vetted and documented approaches to addressing various forms of inequity that align closely with our program goals.
Solutions intended for the community are more efficient, equitable, and regenerative when a broad coalition is involved from the beginning of planning. Therefore, BeEagle have already embarked in a participatory process, inviting all community members who share a commitment to values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We will ensure reasonable accommodations in all facets of our work, and include accommodation requests in registration materials. Democratization of decision making is enhanced by digital tools. Zoom, utilizing the platform's best practices for accessibility, is our preferred meeting software. When in-person gathering and public events are held, it is our policy to utilize public spaces that are accessible to everyone, including people with mobility limitations, physical disabilities, visual and auditory disabilities, and those who are neurodiverse. Interpretation and translation services provide inclusion via language access with local Burmese, Latinx, Japanese, and Indian immigrants and refugees with varying English proficiency.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
Solve's grant will provide us the resources that BeEagle needs to adequately address the issue of women lack of access to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related opportunities and digital equity If chosen, we plan to use the $10,000 for staffing to hire a highly qualified team and we will use $ 50,000 to purchase STEM learning tools.Over the span of three months, we hope to use about $8,000-$9,000 for personnel while using the remainder for supplies, overhead, and any other expenses.
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
An ideal partner in this solution will be able to provide technological support for our program in coding, software development, and handing front and back-end programing to help us create the optimum and functioning learning management system. Although our team has the basic skills in this area, we could benefit from having another resource to seek advice in efficiency to complete this task.
Actually we do not have any specific organizations in mind, our team is willing to extend our reach to groups that might have this specialized skill. Having a partner that could contribute to our solution will allow for more beneficiaries to be attracted to our solution in the long-run. By making a learning STEM management system that is first, user friendly, we will be able to retain and encourage our beneficiaries to complete this program.
