REBORN EDUCATION 4 AN EQUAL WORLD
Reborn for an equal world! A project created for Colombian students. That still believe in the power of a great country, that raised the future leaders of the world! Were inequality could just become one more memory. Especially for a population like “la Guajira” and to be more specific Uribia, that due to the global pandemic was forgotten by the government, without a stable education system that could provide quality online classes.
With this, we are creating and distributing a USB linked with a program, that could be linked to any electronic device. Inside it, kids can download and have access to educational materials, while being offline. As well, we’re looking forward to the partnership with the “ZELLO WALKIE TALKIE APP”.
Equally important is ‘mental health’, that’s we are creating a system in which kids can easily access a ‘panic bottom’ and speak with psychologists from home.
Currently, due to the pandemic generated by Covid 19, the world began to face different challenges at the social and economic level, where countries had to carry out reforms in various areas of society to safeguard people's lives and ensure that the economy did not fall. at alarming levels. levels. One of the challenges that societies faced was the transition from face-to-face education to virtual education, allowing people who had disabilities or had to make long and expensive trips to the place of study, to receive their classes from the comfort of their own home. However, this represents a possible exclusion front for those students who do not have the necessary tools to have a quality education. It also represents a challenge for teachers, as they have to adapt their methodologies to virtuality.
These challenges of virtual education about exclusion, adaptation, quality of education are situations that must be resolved.
In addition, many children face mental health problems that, in face-to-face settings, used to be more easily identified by schools or teachers. Now, with the quarantine and loneliness, this average has increased significantly and is no longer something visible through virtuality.
A USB, which contains a microphone and which will have different types of inputs for phones, tablets, or computers. Through this, children can access a specific school online. While using it, the device locks preventing children from entertaining with external things. Meanwhile, there will be free downloads of interactive materials that teachers can easily upload by having the USB connected. In addition, to give access to the class we will make an agreement with the "ZELLO WALKIE TALKIE APP", through this, each class would be able to communicate instantaneously without the internet and without a camera, considering that in Colombia privacy policies state that you can never force a child to turn it on.
In addition, to solve mental health problems in students, children will be asked how they are feeling daily and can ask for help through options/ bottoms in private and as soon as the bottom is touched, a school psychologist or teacher will be informed and she will create a private room to talk to him through voice.
This USB, which can be found in all the rancherías or supermarkets near Uribia. Being free for children from strata 1 to 4.
Our solution will improve the lives in a direct way of Colombian children located in the municipality of Uribia in La Guajira, Colombia.
They are a group who live in a region that is often forgotten by the government, being just a sample of many other population groups in Colombia leave aside by the state. In Uribia, the poverty rate is 92,2% which consequently implies the Illiteracy rate was nearly 68% in 2010, and that electoral fraud and violence risks are very high. As well, Uribia is an absent state place with no educational opportunities, possessing a breach even with the rest of the department (La guajira), which has pretty bad stats.
Also, in order to understand the needs of this population, the executive director of the project went to Uribia in 2018, visiting one of the schools, and understand since then that the problem of equitable education was part of this population even before the pandemic. With bad infrastructure, lack of discipline, and not enough teachers for the number of students.
Least but not less important, trying to engage with this group, through the pandemic has been very difficult considering the lack of communication with "La Guajira" and the number of connections that the members of the group have. Even though, thanks to investigations and personal experiences there, we have been able to understand what may be their need, especially in a location that is sometimes forgotten by the central goverment.
Finally, hrough the solution, we bring educational possibilities to Uribia municipality with plenty of options to expand it to the rest of the communities in the same situation across the country (Chocó, Buenaventura, Amazonas, etc.). We change the future of many youngsters that actually have no other opportunity rather than dedicating their whole lives to suffer hunger and trying to survive in a savage world that at each second leaves aside more the uneducated people.
- Increase the engagement of learners in remote, hybrid, and physical environments, including strategies and tools for parental support, peer interaction, and guided independent work.
We know that education has been affected in recent years by the pandemic and COVID-19 and that is one of the problems that we want to help solve at MIT by creating a USB so that remote education and equitable classrooms are possible and help millions of children. not be left without a decent education that can inspire them to grow up and be someone in life.
The MIT community is seeking technology-based solutions that ensure that all elementary and middle school students have access to quality, safe, and equitable learning environments. For this, we comply with advanced technology where we bet on designing the idea of a USB memory where children have access to environments that go far beyond videos, if not exclusive materials and higher education, with didactic materials that will help in their growth and training. The environment that we will be creating is remote but we differentiate ourselves from the rest because it will be a motivational guide for children and their parents, with resources for mental health and their well-being in general. They will have access to a world where the doors are not closed to anyone and that is what we want to achieve with our idea, allied of course with the great solution that MIT is looking for with fair classes. quality, safe and equitable learning environments? With our USB available for all children who need it.
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea.
The selected stage of development chosen is the concept stage, because we are exploring the potential production of a device based on an idea that could change the future of many people in some Colombian areas. Improvement in eductaional stats impacts directly the future of Colombian institutions, and the degree of progress that the country could acheve if people of these isolated regions had the same opportunities as the people of a central city.
- A new application of an existing technology
Although our solution uses an existing technology such as a USB, we are expanding the use of this object adding new advantages for the use of the underprivileged students of La Guajira in Colombia. It allows the exchange of knowledge without the need for the internet, it works as a support tool for the tutors themselves to improve their teaching methodology and it is compatible with cell phones, tablets or computers. It should be noted that it is a free service without depending on the use of the internet for the less fortunate. for the other institutions they must pay a totally accessible value.

Currently the project cannot serve any type of public due to the fact that this construction and planning, however, there is already knowledge that the project is viable and there are resources to be able to reach the final objective of steps with specific results.
When the project is finished and it is a fact, it will be concentrated in a specific part of La Guajira where the product will begin to be applied with the different methodologies and programs that will be offered. Within five years, we hope to have improved the application of the product even more to make it an effective and reliable tool, to be able to apply it in general in the Guajira region and even if the project has a significant success, to begin to apply it in the different areas. rural and unfortunate people who have suffered in the same way as La Guajira and in this way are training better youth for a better future of the country.
The operation, performance and success of the application of the product to improve the education of the less favored populations, would be measured through different censuses and studies which will facilitate how people are feeling with the product, how it can be improved and enhanced even more the functions of the usb and also through exams and academic raffles that allow to see if this methodology has helped young people to obtain new knowledge and to be able to apply it in their academic and personal life. With all this, the evaluation of the project could improve day by day to be able to offer a much better service than what was launched and what is being used. This will allow that any discomfort or problems that people are having, can be detected in a timely manner and solved effectively and correctly.

The director of this project, throughout life, has worked in many social services projects, that have helped her understand many social issues that specifically Colombian society faced daily in places like "La guajira" or Amazonas or even Valle del Cauca. That's why she's capable of actually trying to understand what others feel in times of scarcity and how to actually get close to these people and find their needs.
Our solution team is full of diversity, considering that many of us come from different parts of Colombia, which helps us understand different realities that occur in our country. Especially, we are from Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, and Magdalena; places that are so different but have many issues to faced about poverty, inequality, and insecurity. Due to this, every single member of this group has lived in a place where inequality is part of the "daily doses", which makes us reflect on how unfair is this and how much we really want to make a change in order for every kid in Colombia to have equal chances of succeeding.
Also, it's important that as a group we understand that big changes, start with small steps. So, with this project, we do not plan since day one to make every single kid in Colombia equal to the rest in terms of education. Instead, we wanted to start a project that at least can change the opportunities of one community and make rural societies feel equally important as those located in the cities. As well, we really hope to make communities like Uribias, be known by more people around the world, in terms of their culture and the things they have to offer in tourism. This considering that tourism is money, money is development and development is education.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
Aside from receiving the $10,000 grant from Solve if our solution is selected to start financing our product, and also the additional funding Solve mention. What we really want is for them to impulse and believe in our idea we are also thrilled to receive nine months of personalized support from Solve staff and Members of Solve’s cross-sector social impact community for them to impuse and make a significant growth, we believe that the more people that joins and believe in REBORN EDUCATION 4 AN EQUAL WORLD the better. Solve can help us solve the financial and social part of our project, they can really make our project achieve the next level. With all this staff and new members in our project the part of making ourselves known is solved, also if more people know about this beautiful project more people will want to make part of it and support it.
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
- Business model (e.g. product-market fit, strategy & development)
- Financial (e.g. improving accounting practices, pitching to investors)
- Technology (e.g. software or hardware, web development/design, data analysis, etc.)
We need first of all human capital , because for our technology to work we need teachers , Psychologist ,and experts in technology that are willing to contribute to our beautiful project REBORN EDUCATION 4 AN EQUAL WORLD , we need their expertise, experience, and skills. Also persons with good education, training, intelligence, skills, and health that are compromised and had also a passion to help this kids at Uribia. We also need expertise in our Canva business Model from experts to help us reshape , and have a better outcome and no room for mistakes in our strategy and logistic plans. In the financial part we certainly need investors to help in our Solution because we need capital to all the logistics of distributing the USBs and to have the best technologies possible , also to travel , and to hire the experts for the courses and capacitations of the kids and families. Finally we also need capital and support in the technology part, since it is the hardcore of our project. First we need experts in the area of the software, and excellent software to put the programs in the USBs , also in the construction of them and in the design of the program and some capacitation in the use of Big data .
We would like to partner with MIT school of engineering, as well as, MIT school of humanities, arts, and social sciences. This, considering that all of the group members of "REBORN EDUCATION 4 AN EQUAL WORLD" are students of business administration or similar careers, making us not be that prepared in terms of technological knowledge or how to actually make the idea a real prototype. As well, it's important to understand that many of the team's members have work in social projects, but in theoretical knowledge, we may not know how to make an education platform effective in terms of the realities that Uribia's kids have faced and how the way they learn may be different to us.
Also, we would like to partner with Edu Cambio, a Colombian social organization that focused on giving each day more opportunities for kids in terms of education, with scholarships, notebooks, or libraries. This organization could give us the knowledge of how to arrive at a certain community, as well as, partnership with us in terms of educational tools we could take to Uribia's kids (books, interactive materials, or even build a public library together).
