Data-driven online & offline platform for teachers providing 21st century curriculum and PLC for leveraging skills, classroom performance at scale.
In 2016, Thailand has 47,000 quality teachers deficit (UNESCO & OECD) especially with Science, Math through to STEM which are foundations of logical thinking leading to efficient complex problem solving skills but also crucial for critical thinking and computational thinking (coding) which are essential for 21st century workforces. Moreover, teachers are overburdened with administrative duties leading them to have less time for teaching preparation and fill up their skill gaps.
Meanwhile, in 2017, Ministry Of Education has launched the teacher training scheme with 200,000 public school teachers across the country. With experiences in ed-tech & in-school teacher training for over 7 years and with our mission that aims to leverage teachers skills and classroom contribution leading to the enhancement of students skills & performance level. Therefore, in 2018, Learn Education has launched “TrainKru”, a data-driven learning platform for online, blended-learning and offline courses providing 21st century skill curriculum and Professional Learning Community for leveraging skills, classroom performance at scale. In affiliations with Thailand’s leading universities to develop curriculum complying with Thai teachers behaviours and environment.
In regards to online solutions, our responsive web-based LMS developed by in-house developers leading by MIT Alumni, it could be access wherever with internet connection. In addition, the offline mode is already in pipeline for teachers in rural area and will imply by 2020.
Moreover, our online courses emphasizing on STEM and coding (Scratch and Python), crucial for students logical thinking and to relief teachers skill gaps, insufficient experiences for classroom contribution and reduce Rote learning method (some have occurred even with these logical-based subjects).
For offline courses(workshops), they are still in high demand as Thai teachers are still get familiar with tangible learning process. However, we will accelerate to become more blended-learning and online by 2020.
The distinguished parts are that we are data-driven platform, data analytics will be utilized in 4 major parts;
To design and improve the courses quality in all aspects possible and to be easier to comprehend.
The analytics of user journey, user insight & feedback will be utilized to enhance platform UX&UI to be more friendly.
To help 14,000 public school teachers, who have to undergo the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process for their promotions. By providing them reports for the promotional system submission.
To develop and expand the courses to comprehend all the subjects and skill gaps of teachers. Afterward, to be as series of personalized courses in compliance with the skill sets that teachers needed as parts of Individual Development Plan (IDP). This will make us to be one of the pioneers to develop this solutions in Thailand.
Currently, we have reached 14,000 public school teachers impacting 1.5 million students throughout the country. We aim to reach 100,000 teachers in whole system impacting 7 million students and also looking forward to pilot our solutions in South East Asia especially in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar as first priorities as these area have similar challenges in education with our country within 5 years (2023).

We have data analytics based on teacher behaviours, user journey, insight & feedback in online, blended-learning through to offline courses. They will be utilized to design & improve in terms of UX&UI, quality of curriculum and reports for promotional system. Ultimately, to develop as personalized skill sets courses as parts of teachers Individual Development Plan.

Technology is dissolving basic services barriers, our responsive web-based LMS developed by in-house developers leading by MIT Alumni could be access wherever that with internet connection (4mbps min speed). In addition, offline mode is already in our pipeline for teachers in rural area as we need some time to research and will imply by 2020.
It also helps teachers to interact with instructors and others for PLC process. More importantly, it helps us collect, analyze, develop and implement solutions based on data analytics from LMS database.
Lastly, to help expand solutions at scale, in terms of courses and implemented area.
Our target is 15,000 teachers (14,000 teachers as of July 2018), to expand to private schools impacting over 1.5 million students and improving our online platform to be more friendly.
Moreover, we plan to develop prototype features of teachers portfolio & logbook to help their promotions and the prototype application as teachers partner, PLC and consultation services leading to the development of Individual Development Plan in ultimate.
In terms of courses, to reach 50 courses in all levels and subjects especially with 21st century skill such as design thinking, computational thinking, and other necessaries that meet teachers demand.
To reach 100,000 teachers in all levels & subjects of whole education system impacting 7 million students with 200 online and blended-learning courses.
We will explore new technologies to develop the platform to comprehend all the features that necessary for learning and for teacher professions. And also start a full consultation services & teachers Individual development Plan e.g. in curriculum design, classroom management,etc.
Furthermore, we are looking forward to pilot our online platform and solutions in South East Asia especially in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar as first priorities as these area have similar challenges in education with our country.

In the first phase, TrainKru is implementing under the teacher training scheme from Ministry of Education between July to September 2018. Over 300,000 public school teachers will be annually funded for 10,000 THB (300 USD) per capita by the government. They have to register & shop for the courses at https://training.obec.go.th/ during the shopping period.
Our first customers came from connections with over 160 schools and Science and Math teachers across Thailand. With word of mouth, in-school sales and social media, we have gained more customers at scale (14,000 teachers) especially in online courses.
We are serving 14,000 teachers (as of July 2018), which 11,000 are enrolling in online and blended-learning courses and 3,000 are in workshops.
In regards to online and blended courses, teachers can enroll on www.trainkru.com and can access for 1 year even if the programs have ended.
For workshops, teachers can enroll at our venue in their regions and whether they have questions after the sessions, they can still interact with instructors and others on the platform as well.
Apart from the platform, teachers can reach us via Facebook, Line and Call center as well.
In the next 12 months, we will serve 15,000 public school teachers and expanding to private schools impacting over 1.5 million students.
For courses, we will increase to 50 courses emphasizing on online and blended-learning.
Other than platform that we will enhance, the prototype features of logbook & teachers partner application and professional learning community are included.
In the next 3 years, 50,000 teachers in whole education system impacting 7 million students. With 100 online and blended-learning courses and developing platform to comprehend all features in demand and to pilot our platform and solutions in South East Asia.

As a social enterprise that has experiences in ed-tech and in-school teacher training for over 7 years, with strong connections in 160 schools, 40,000 students and 200 teachers. And as an affiliation of Ministry of Education and other NGOs, we can say that we have strong foundation and connections with both public and private sectors.
In addition, with our specialization in Math & Science curriculum, production house, in-house developers and data analytics from our platform, we have potentials in developing platform and courses. Especially with STEM and Coding as we have a strong curriculum alliances with Thailand leading universities.
Our organization is for-profit which revenue comes from the sales of courses. The price of our product is strategically structured to be affordable, between (50-150 USD) for 8 -18 hours long courses.
In the next 12 months, we will start the teachers Individual Development Plan and consultancy services ; which we will charge the services fee; emphasizing on Professional Learning Community, curriculum design and classroom performance.We will also start the online subscription model as well.
In the next 3 to 5 years, we plan to be Teacher Training Ecosystem in Thailand with 100,000 teachers and starts to implement our solutions in South East Asia with the same revenue model; the courses sales, consultancy services fee and online subscription.
Applying to SOLVE, we will meet proficient partners to collaborate with our in-house developers leading by MIT alumni, to enhance platform competency to accommodate 100,000 users by 2023. Moreover, to mentor us in utilizing data to develop the precise individual Development Plan for teachers. Through to embracing new technologies as well.
We also believe that SOLVE partners could help us scale in terms of courses; by enhancing quality and quantity especially with 21st century skills curriculum, design thinking, computational thinking, and other new pedagogies.
Lastly, SOLVE could help deploy our solutions across South East Asia by 2023.
Starting with Anti-technology attitude from teachers since they think that using online platform might be difficult. SOLVE could help us on research & design UX&UI to be friendly with all types of users.
Next, the insufficient skills & experiences of teachers for knowledge contribution especially with STEM, Scratch and Python, some even teach by Rote learning method. Reflecting on students to have deficient logical & problem solving skills. Hence, SOLVE could mentor us in utilizing our data to design & develop curriculum and teachers Individual Development plan to precisely fill their skill gaps and improve classroom performance.
