What specific problem are you solving?

Around the globe, many teachers are struggling to adapt their pedagogy, facilitate personalized instruction, and communicate with students and their families in remote and hybrid settings. This is exacerbated by the unavailability of integrated tools that interoperate with the traditional physical workbooks. Also, access to affordable learning devices and reliable internet are key limiting factors in Africa. The result is that 463 million young learners representing 1 in 3 schoolchildren globally cannot participate in remote learning.

What is your solution?

WORKBOOK device and AI-based platform delivers personalized instruction and automates the submission and grading of physical workbooks in remote and hybrid settings — saving educators up to 70% more time.

WORKBOOK has one-year internet access, a student-facing screen with camera and a desk-facing workbook scanner.

When the students submit their worksheet under the workbook scanner on their desk, the teacher scans it remotely from her dashboard with a click, grades it online and submits it to the student’s dashboard in few clicks. Artificially intelligent algorithms identify knowledge gaps and recommend remedial lessons for each student.

Easy-to-use dashboards provide instant access to the learning progress and knowledge gaps of each student. This actionable data is available to the student, school teachers, private tutors and parents. Through an API, this data can be integrated into school management systems, as well as external career exploration platforms.

With these features, WORKBOOK is helping to create equitable remote and hybrid learning environments.

They Using WORKBOOK, educators can quickly grade worksheets and identify which students need further assistance and which need more challenging work, understand the patterns at the class level and update their lesson plans to ensure all students are making the required progress.

The provision WORKBOOK as an affordable learning device with reliable internet access can reduce the achievement gaps, particularly for young learners who are typically let down by the education system: those who are from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with foundational knowledge gaps.

This is because workbook is a central tool in the pedagogy of teachers of young learners. As an assessment tool, worksheets are used by teachers to understand students' previous knowledge, outcome of learning, and the process of learning; at the same time, they can be used to enable students to monitor the progress of their own learning.
