Community Health

Covid 19 pandemic has disrupted the  way things are done including health.The need for community  involvement is therefore crucial in fighting health crises. By forming teams in our communities of 50 people or less who will appoint a leader who directly liase with health centres and clinics to get information and pass it to their group.The group in turn provides feedback in the form of suggestions abd recommendations. This will ensure a more open  relationship between health  practitioners  and the community they serve and it will help to strength relationships.

Health information transmision.There was a lot of one way information  flow during the Covid pandemic and that made it difficult for communities  to take ownership of the crisis and give advice. By involving ordinary  people in health a lot can be achieved in terms of ownership of issues at hand.

Health information service using modern day yecjnology like waasup, facebook  and facebook zero to work with communities. 

Populations in a certain geographical area like villages and towns.They are usually at the receiving end of information transmission and  have no  power to give feedback.This will give people a sense if ownership of the health issues that prevail at the time and willmake communities  become part of the solutions because of their feedback.

By directly involving communities a lot of misinformation can be eliminated because of close link with health centers.Commuity health aims to bring health information close to the public.

I dont have much resources to fully explore the  solution because I heard  of the challenge a bit late.I haven't assembled a team yet.

It simply INVOLVES more stakeholders in the health sector.Its main aim is to 'democratize' health information  by making it more inclusive,engaging to the ordinaru people in the community.

Initially about 5000 but will increase to close to half a million in a year and a million  in less than 5 years.

By the number of villages reached,the number of groups formed and the level of leadership reached.

Im currently the only  one.

We are already in a crisis with timely information not reaching people.For example elderly  people are supposed to get asecond dose of the vaccine but the information is not reaching them properly so we  want to address the discepancy.

We involve everyone in the community which is made of  diverse members.Everyone should have a say as long as they have a basic cellphone.

I want tobe part of a community that solve world problems.I wany to engage with the best minds at MIT and hopefully encourage  others in my country  become Solvers too. I hope one day MIY will establish a solvers hub in Africa especially in Botswana. 

Because I am at an idea stage I basically need all the help especially of running a profit making social enterprise. 

MIT,MIT,Solve partners and MIT bootcamps.They will help me raise funds for my business and how to run a business. 

Refugees are all over the world and many of them are excluded unfortunately from health services  of the countries  they live in.I want to help them gain  access to health facilities.

I am a woman who is working towards a qualification in the technology industry,IoT to be exact.I am also passionate about health especially reproductive health.
