Cyber crimes cause a massive loss of valuables and personal identities; a problem that is expected to reach an annual cost of +5 Trillion USD worldwide by 2025. 

This solution is to mix an analog electronic biometric card inclusing a full backend authentication solution with online operation. A person gets identified on the card by the fingerprint as legitimate user, the cards creates a token identifying the user online with no personal data input or exposing physical biometrics online with the huge risk of hacking and theft of data. 

The authentication on the card is fully offline, out of hacker space and with a tokenized identity it get immune towards hacker attacks and risk of loss of biometric data eliminated.

This will globally help all people with a safer digital life, with real privacy protection, unique identification for illiterates protecting them in elections, trading, receivng food support etc.

We are focused on bringing a safe digital identity solution to the world as this is a rapidly growing problem with millions of cases of identity theft or identity abuse worldwide every month. 

The world is lacking a system that uniquely identifies the individual and at the same time fully protects privacy. With fully digital solution unique identification and privacy protection has been lost as all online tools can be hacked, manipulated and data stolen. A problem where Cybersecurity in total caused losses of USD 2,100 billion in 2020 according to CSIS & McAfee research. 

The online connectivity 24/7-365 gives hackers brilliant opportiunities and time to hack all central databases and retreive critical data for their malicious purpose.

At the same time actual or elleged electrorial fraud takes place in all parts of the world which again can happen due to lack of unique identity which especially jeopardizes illiterates right and exclude them from any digital activity documented in several UN reports on especially 3rd world countries.

The lack of unique identification of users and providing them full privacy protection is a huge stumbling block in secure digitalization worldwide; a task CardLab Innovation has taken on to solve.

The solution consists of:

- the offline biometric card with a fingerprint sensor and a microcomputer inside the card.

- an online backend authentication server and a HSM server that functions to verify the tokenized identity data the card produces when a user has been recognized by the card.

The biometric fingerprint card gets issued to a user that then enrolls his fingerprints onto the cards where it is stored a a biometric hashed algorithm. No storage of biometric data on a central server.

The card is registrered on the authentication server where a key to identify the card is installed and when the user enrolls the card a secret key is created and stored in the HSM server and never leaves this server.

With the card enrolled and registered in the system the user identifies himself on the card by the fingerprint and the created algorithm is compared to the card template and with matching ok, the card will perform its function and the user is identified by the token the card creates. 

The card can then communicate with any host platform via NFC, BLE, USB or code shown in display for automatic of manuel user token communication.

The target solution is to implement biometric card authentication with a fulle backend authentication system which in different parts of the world will serve one or more purposes.

In general it serves as the identity theft protection tool for any citizen in the world as your biometric identity is stored in the card only as a hashed mathematical template when a user has enrolled his fingerprint(s) onto the card. When the user wants to use the card/service the user identifies himself on the card with the fingerprint and if accepted a token is created giving the ability to tokenize all transactions and thereby prevent identity theft which is extremely easy today. This protection applies to all citizens worldwide and can be used in connection with physical & digital access control, ID, Government & Health, payments, blockchain & Cryptocurrency authentication etc.

From statistical data is is clear that there is an urgents need to reduce the opening for these Cyder criminal related issues and working with several companies it is understood that it is an unsolved problem so far that has a worldwide cost of approximately USD 6 Trillion a year. Introducing this solution together with strict company IT policies has the potential to block a significant part (+50%) of the Cyber criminal activities.

The solution also works as a tool to help secure illiterates right and make them digital as the solution secures their identity against fraudulant use in connection with social rights, insurance, elections etc. as the card and backend creates the unbreakable link between the Physical and digital identity. As the fingerprint is your signature the illiteracy is no longer a blocking stone for being uniquely identified and can help also illiterates to become digital with biometric payments, biometric passports, biomeric voter ID etc. where all can be served by an "Al in One" card solution. The solution willput especially people in third world countries in a much stronger position as their identity cannot be abused and replicated due to the tokenization capability.

In short the solution can in terms of also being a biometric election cards secure the democratic rights of citizens in all countries and remove disputes on illegimate votes like recently in the US presedential election and in many other courtries wellknown for systematic election fraud to keep old Ruling Parties in place. With a solution like this people can only vote once due to being a unique identification tool 

In refugee camps and similar where theft of food, allowances and similar is a huge problem due to the lack of identity control this solution will also largely contribute to the goods been distributed to the people they were intended for and will make it much more difficult for gangs to collect aid supplies using fake identities. So again a great help to secure the unprotected and refugess rights.

During our recent project creating a solution for protection of critial infrastructure, supported by grants from the EU Horizon2020 program a number of different users have been involved as test users and feedback group on the solution to make sure it fits the needs of the users. For ongoing projects it will also be a close collaboration involving end users as test users so we can identify gaps in the specifications and real life situations that was not considered when designing the project.

The solution does by its tokenized identity solution provide unique identification of the users and enable them to use the digital infrastructure as the card can connect with any host device over contact or contactless interface. 

It digitzed their identity in a safe, efficient and user friendly way and protects them against hacking and identity theft which especially for illiterates is a huge problem as they have no way to protect their analog identity. This is hereby solved and opens safe access to all digital services for people in general without having to worry about identity theft.

Significant time has been used on developing the solution and perform in-house and lab testing. We are now at a stage where the products are maturing and we need to bring it into pilots to start scaling production and get feedback on what needs to be updated or added to the next generation that will have to be prepared as a continous product update cycle.

We are right now piloting the solution with a number of test users including Gisecke & Devrient, eSignus (HashWallet), Drayson technologies, Sensyne Health Systems, US agency (NDA restrictions on user name),Salto Systems and a number of companies in access control, QuardLock and other Cyber security companies.

So testing ranges from physical & digital access, payments, Cryptocurrency HardWallet authentication, ID card and Citizen ID solutions.

With societies applying stronger secure user identification the solution provides a seamless and efficient user identification, reducing unsecure SMS authentication that takes up to 40 sec. if conntion is ok, to 3.5 sec. with much higher security and unique user identification

Removal of passwords & PIN codes is also enabled with this solution making digital life more secure and the needed period change of PIN's and Passwords becomes obsoletely as all ID's are tokenized

Removal of e-commerce fraud can happen as all transactions become tokenized and impossible to duplicate

An estimated 40% reduction on IT support for lost & stolen passwords is realistic with no need to remember passwords= excluding the possiblity to skim, copy or lure passwords for fraudulant use

The ability to provide bundled solutions with “All in One” card is expected to change the market dramatically as this will reduce the CO2 footprint of the card industry significantly and provide value for money for organizations using such a product.

The hygiene with contactless biometric transactions is enhanced using biometric cards with no need to touch readers others have touched, mitigating the infection risk.

Up to 98% energy reduction compared to face scan is also possible enabling small units to optimize their security without huge investments in unsecure identification devices relying on verification of biometric data on central databases.

The solution is seen to change the sector dramatically as it solves a major part of all Cyber Security problems present today and makes digitalization available for illiterates

Presently we are completing the piloting stage with some of the major market players where we address a few thousand users.

In three years the solution will be expanded via some of the big players and direct smaller customers and the postive effect is estimated to reach 10 - 15 million people.

In five years the ramp up will be significant and an estimated 100+ million users are expected to obtain the positive effect of better privacy protection.

The above numbers will have a spill off effect on many more people as especially on government and big enterprice solutions the potential for huge IT savings is present which allows those public agencies and enterprises to allocate their resources to other areas with better use of the funds saved from not paying ransomware, restoring datasystem, fighting fraud and have a better socio economic system based ob better user identification.

At this point setting KPI's is in progress but some initial measuring points have been agreed internally and with our partners. These KPI's include:

- Number of identity cards issued to illiterates using tokenized identity to secure, democratic election rights, user equality due to tokenized identity and digitalization of unbanked population.

- Number of cards issued that are multifunction cards that thereby reduce energy and material consumption in production.

- Supporting innovation by tracking our solutions and measure how the technologies are used in other form factors to secure reduced use of resources, energy and carbon footprint.

We have the most experienced team in the world regarding developing electronic powered cards where some of the engineers have been working on this solution right since the beginning and were part of delivering the first functional biometric card to Bank of America in 2006.

Our Senior technical manager has a background in the chip foundry industry and has been chip designer with Intel and other wellknown chip manufacturers 

We have software developers with more than 25 years of experience holding Master of electronic engineering and similar and also a SW engineer holding a PhD in electronic engineering and embedded systems.

Our Hardware staff are all well experinced from other high end electronic industry jobs.

Our staff at the Thai lamination factory also have a long history where the Manager has been working for another card manufacturing company in Thailand before hired by CardLab 5 years ago and with partners in the factory that previously have been part of starting up two other card factories and brought them to a commercial M & A.

CardLab has always been focused on capabilities and not any other measuring point which means we today have Nationalities from Denamrk, Sweden, Netherlands, Thailand and China as employees in the company where all work under the same principles and enjoy the same rights. 

We are also very inclusive as race, gender, sexual orientation etc. aren't items that exclude an employment with CardLab.

We unfortunately have to few female employees but this is due to lack of recruiting potential and hope it will get better in the future.

We are also open to employing people with disabilities and have presently one who is not able to work fulltime and isn't stable in his apperance at work but we have been able to adjust his work to still have him employed and will be able to continue with him like we have done the last 4 years.

CardLab applies to this program as we believe we have a solution that really can make a difference to mankind in many aspects.

Digitalization is here to stay but it is still in its infancy and ther is in our mind no doubt that the security aspect has to be visited to secure democratic rights, eliminate identity fraud, secure unique user identification and include the large part of the population that by now is unbanked, non-digital and risk being left behind the digitalization train.

Our solution can change that situation and by reducing Cyber criminal activities also release fund that can be spent better than on Cyber Criminal activity costs.

The next 20 month is a planned ramp up period for CardLab to make this solution more widely known and start larger implementations as well as production activities.

To be able to do this we have a present funding round ongoing to raise USD 10M in new capital to increase:

- production capabilities and ensure certification of the production for payments and government high security solutions

- Hire more people for customer support and Sales & marketing purposes. The new hires will be in the categories technical sales engineers, production staff, account managers and admin staff.

We would like to partner with other parties trying to improve democratic rights in especially undeveloped areas and also partner with companies that are responsible for digitalization to help secure a more broad adaption of digital solutions to include individuals that otherwise would be left behind.

We also like to work with the transport sector on traveller identification to eliminate expensive and unsecure database reliant authentication and replace it with secure efficient biometric card identification solutions that has the potential to become a cross border solution and provide a massive power reduction in the traveller authentication process. in addition will this provide much better identity protection of travelllers as well as protecting against identity swops in airports which is quite often seen and pose a real security/ terror threat to all other travellers and organizations.

By partnering with organizations that have a real benefit from unique user identification combined with full privacy protection, provided by our tokenized solution we will be able to provide value to those partners and at the same time help millions of end users to a more secure digital life and companies to more secure solution for example like with remote work stations.
