Bannaa
More than 50% of Arabs are below 26. In an unstable region politically and economically, it's important to equip refugees with all the tools they need to be resilient. Arabs don't read but we're insatiable when it comes to video content. Bannaa (builder in Arabic) produce video tutorials and maintain a community of builders in three areas. 1- Building tools and apps using nocode tools. 2- Building automations using nocode tools. 3- Cryptocurrencies and payments how to dos.
If refugees with no technical background can build apps, tools and automations. And can transact regardless of location origin. They can survive anywhere and all circumstances. Thats' truly being part of the internet economy at scale. This is our goal at Bannaa. To help Arabs to join the internet economy. If people had to leave their country, they will still be part of the internet economy.
Refugees face many challenges before settling in the final destination. Those challenges are:
- Learning relative skills that can contribute to their skills in their transit countries and their settling country.
- Sending and receiving payments is not easy. It's one of the biggest challenges for refugees which makes their journey much harder.
We offer refugees in Jordan, Turkey and Germany the following:
- An online bootcamp to learn how to build apps and tools using nocode tools. By the end of the bootcamp, attendees will create an online store, a course app and an online grocery app. Tools involved: Glideapps and Webflow.
- An online bootcamp to learn how to build automations. by the end of the bootcamp, attendees will create a CRM, invoicing system and an email marketing workflow. Airtable, Zapier and Google Sheets.
- An online bootcamp to learn how to interact with cryptocurrencies:
- Create wallets.
- The basics and differences between different cryptocurrencies.
- The use cases for difference crypto currencies.
- How to maintain privacy with cryptocurrencies.
By the end of the bootcamp, attendees will be be able to use and utilize Bitcoin and Ethereum, understand the basics of DeFi (decentralized finance) and understand how to maintain privacy.
Refugees based in Jordan, Turkey and Germany. There are a decent number of refugees in these countries and the access to internet and computer is fairly available. I've been involved in providing bootcamps to refugees. Here are some examples:

https://www.coindesk.com/how-b...
There was a common pattern in all previous workshops. Refugees wanted to learn a skill they could utilize. The three bootcamps we offer can impact their lives directly and offer them an opportunity to understand their new world and how it functions.
- Equip everyone, regardless of age, gender, education, location, or ability, with culturally relevant digital literacy skills to enable participation in the digital economy.
Our focus is to provide a path for refugees to continue. The bootcamps offer enough for refugees to help them think how they can expand on what they learned and help them think what they need to do in order to land a job or build a company. People will come out of the bootcamp as builders (hence the name). When they build apps or automations they will think beyond it and start linking what they learned to real life. They can identify opportunities that fit what they learned and even more identify what they need to lean next.
- Pilot: An organization deploying a tested product, service, or business model in at least one community.
We created 60 videos and just finished 1 bootcamp. We're fine tuning what we built and making changes as we go.
We have been testing with early signups and getting their feedback for the last 6 months.
- A new application of an existing technology
There are two reasons why our solution is innovative:
- We're focusing on the masses and utilizing the most consumed type of content.
- We focus on building. By the end of any bootcamp or program, attendees will create real projects which will help them solve future problems.

Team of 6.
4 full-time.
2 part-time.
Our team has built companies and apps using nocode tools and landed jobs in the field.
Before producing new videos, we build the solution ourselves.
When we interview for work, we don't ask for CVs, background or experience. We have two requirements: 1- Passion. 2- Ability to learn. And we ask the interviewee to be able to demonstrate them in the 8 weeks demo. And based on those two elements we make the decision.
Our current team is as the following:
4 male/2 female.
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
We believe that we're solving a major problem for refugees and Solve offer a lot of help in many areas. Marketing and mentorship are the most important to us.
- Human Capital (e.g. sourcing talent, board development, etc.)
- Public Relations (e.g. branding/marketing strategy, social and global media)
- Monitoring & Evaluation (e.g. collecting/using data, measuring impact)
As we grow, we will need help in hiring and marketing. In addition, we will need mentoring from more experienced professionals which can help us navigate future challenges we're not aware of yet.
Partnering with media outlets help us tremendously. It will make refugees, hosting countries officials and companies aware of what we're doing. Which will create an opportunity for collaboration.
