Phalanx Hub
Our solution seeks to
1. Address the challenge digital inequality and inequity poses to underserved individuals either due to their location, cultural disposition or financial status thereby bridging digital divides and giving equal opportunity to all
2. We propose the strategic deployment of mobile digital hubs to identify, train, empower and equip these individuals with 21st century digital skills and tools
3. Our solution if deployed globally would bridge digital divides and provide easy access
Our solution seeks to address the existing lack of practical ethical digital education and close the digital divide. Over 43% of young Nigerians between 14-45 years age bracket cannot operate a computer system where over 29% use digital skill to pepertrate advance fee fraud and romance scams.
Only about 91.6 million of a population of over 200 Nigerians (198 as at 2018 National Population Censor 2018 ) million Nigerians had access to the internet (NCC June 2017)
Phalanx Hub hopes to provide easy access to digital education thereby helping individuals and small businesses to be digitally nimble and ensuring digital inclusion in Nigeria
Our solution aims to create digital hubs as a tool to engage individuals especially in the underserved communities propelling them to find digital expression through the platform of trainings, online and onsite programs while providing the necessary expertise, support and tools. We would launch the solution using a 56 feet semi-trailer mobile digital facility and establish hubs as we progress
Our primary target population whose lives we intend to directly impact are those within the 14-45 age bracket, about 175,558,016 Nigerians, with little or no digital education. Through constant engagement with the local community and positive flexible programs we intend to provide top-notch service. The solution will help members of the participating communities to be equipped with relevant tools and skills. Our secondary target is to provide digital inclusion to all regardless of age, background or location.
- Equip everyone, regardless of age, gender, education, location, or ability, with culturally relevant digital literacy skills to enable participation in the digital economy.
The problem and our solution is well aligned to the Challenge. Our solution addresses digital inequality and inequity on a grand scale. The target population are primarily the learning population for fast assimilation. We will encourage all by providing constant support systems across the board
