MentorUp
- Pre-Seed
An app that connects young girls to established women to take on projects and opportunities.
From Bushwick to Burundi, a young girl should never be limited in her opportunities just because of where she grew up. The MentorMe app is an app that enables young girls to get access to a database of successful women who are willing to help. Sometimes the shot of success for a young woman is one connection away. If a young girl has access to a mentor she is 52% more likely to succeed over her same peers who don't. By being paired with a mentor she's able to gain skills, confidence and her first client , enabling young girls to be entrepreneurs. Girls everywhere are hungry for opportunity, whether it's Casey in Fiji or Burma in Brazil, sometimes all we need is someone to point us in the direction of the right resources, using AI and Live mentors, MentorUp can do this.
The Access to education and oportunities among young girls. Often times, girls drop out of school or the workforce because of outstanding financial costs or current debts in place.
Something that can be -and has proven to be -solved through mentorship and connection to opportunities. One offer can prevent a girl from dropping out of the workforce and school.
There are people around who can act as mentors to the number of girls in need of mentorship. By connecting a girl to a mentor who has an opportunity available and is in need of help we begin to see a cycle that enables young women and girl to thrive. When you help a women start her business, she is able to contribute financially to her society- increasing GRP. In addition when you enable a girl with an entrepreneurial opportunity you will see her project turn to a client and that client turned into a business.
Girls stay in school and women entrepreneurs thrive in business. Women's entrepreneurship increases and a girls access and knowledge in financial capital increases. When you educate a girl, you educate her entire village.

Normally mentor based platforms are driven by qualitative data; the interaction, the longevity and the relationship. The MentorUp app takes a look at the substance and project behind the relationship: how do we enable more women and girls to create things that matter together. Building meaningful relationships is rooted in creating something positive together.
The platform focuses on the girls and their need, we work directly with them to better understand who they are and how we can help them best. They are paired to women based on their needs and skill sets. We want to see women thrive.
The technology is available online. For those who do not have access to it, they will be walked through printed material with HHA workers in their area. For iOS and smart phones, there will be an app. For those without, there will be SMS. The platform is free to use for the youth and mentors. If mentors are affiliated with larger corporations, the funding will come directly from employers.
