We will reduce absences by at-risk females, from both school and work, by providing free vitamins and sanitary products. We will fund their distribution through corporate sponsorship on a website that provides quizzes on all type of subjects ranging from English grammar to technology terms.
Millions of women lack access to female sanitary products and much needed women’s vitamins. Without these necessities, young girls are taken out of school and other public settings to work in their household. This unfortunate limitation hinders girls from pursuing careers and educational growth, imposing restrictions that persist even later in life. To eliminate this problem we want to create an educational website, primarily sponsored by female sanitary product companies and female vitamin companies, which publishes quizzes on a variety of subjects for all ages like world languages, science, math, etc.
For every correct answer, sponsors would donate a set amount of products - or example, a vitamin for a correct answer and a sanitary napkin for five. With more awareness, other companies could sponsor the website by donating money to the organizations that can distribute sanitary products and vitamins for women in need.
These website quizzes will have varying focus such as math for elementary school students or second language practice skills for adults. As the website capabilities matures, technical companies would be able to build certification quizzes for new hire or other technology training. They can also promote awareness of their technology by building quizzes for the general public on their acronyms and their terminology. The website would, of course, promote education and awareness of the importance of feminine-specific needs to have them fully prosper and participate in the workforce and economy.
Scaling this solution can make it the premier site for quiz development and rapid skill assessment on published topics. The social objective of the site will make it more popular than for-fee competitors. Greater popularity will enable more at-risk women to receive sanitary products and vitamins; their testimonials on the site will drive greater use by those who visit it and result in a viral affect.
Provide female sanitary napkins and vitamins, necessary for women’s health and crucial for keeping women fully participating in educational programs and the work force. The program will be funded by a sponsored website that will have viral network growth through its usability, educational value, and social purpose. The very visit to the website will promote awareness of the issue and constant use of the website will deliver assistance to the at-risk women.
According to UNESCO, in some areas, one in five girls are forced to miss school due to menstrual cycles and lack of feminine supplies. The donation of vitamins and sanitary products will directly contribute to improving attendance and regular participation in the workforce. Our preferred shopping site, smile.amazon.com, shows that the Internet users are willing to leverage what they are already doing to sponsor donations. The possibility of a site providing quizzes going viral is demonstrated by Quizlet, our favorite study tool. The combination of helping others and yourself will be sure to bring attention and success to the site.
Our solution improves female attendance at school and work by providing them access to sanitary products and vitamins, necessary for women’s health. As adolescence girls are able to attend school continuously, they will grow to be as educated and capable to compete in the workplace as their male counterparts. Funded by product sponsors, the website that will have viral network growth through its usability, educational value, and social purpose. The very visit to the website will promote awareness and constant use of the website will deliver assistance to the at-risk women while allowing users to practice their own educational objectives.

Essentiate is a web and app platform that is beneficial for both users and the target of the cause – underserved women. It provides women with essential vitamins and sanitary products needed to avoid skip out from school or the workforce. Rather than being given books or school supplies, women’s more basic needed are addressed which ensures attendance and participation. The platform users enable women to be educated and work while educating themselves with the functionality of Essentiate at the same time.
Enabling women to stay in school and participate in the community workforce shall ensure that they perpetuate the participation of younger females. We enable that by providing the necessary vitamins and sanitary products that typically hinder women’s continuous participation. Sponsored by these product companies, our website and app serves as a study tool for users of all backgrounds and ages to answer questions on subjects of their choice. Their correct answers coupled with the funds from sponsors will provide underserved women with these essentials to continue education and working.
Users can log in to the website, or smartphone application, and choose topics they are interested in studying. They would be able to track progress and see how each correct answer impacts what is being donated. Data would be collected so that sponsors of the website can donate and ship the vitamins and sanitary products to areas that need it. Women who need these products would have it brought to their communities, thus having the resources to stay in school and work.

We have already identified volunteer programmers to develop a website and apps for iPhone and Android phones. Using the funds and awareness that comes from Solve sponsorship we shall signup groups and individuals to develop the subject-specific quizzes. We will use some of the funds to assist in additional fund raising to pay for publicizing our website and application. These fundraisers will be held at different universities so groups can recognize impact of program and become the early adopters. After which, we will use some of the funds to approach vitamin and sanitary product companies for sponsorship and donations and as well as to record testimonials from the beneficiaries during our pilot. During the pilot, we may need to use raise funds to purchase our own products to be donated.
The heavily improvised communities where our solution is needed the most may have a limiting factor of ensuring that the products are used by the women for themselves rather than being sold in the marketplace or used for their male children. The other limiting factors is distribution down to the targeted women instead of being pilfered somewhere in the supply chain. Lastly, successful viral network expansion of the website is the primary limitation factor to scaling.

We are fortunate to have resources needed to keep us in school and in the workforce and we are also aware, that others do not share the same fortune. We want to build the foundation needed to keep women in underserved areas on the path to participating in their education and their economy. Solve can raise awareness, connect with sponsors and partners, and professionals to develop our website and app. With the support of Solve, we can get the adequate means to create the solution, prove, and then scale it out globally.
