SkyNurse
Through autonomous hybrid drones, SkyNurse improves access to indispensable medical supplies such as medications, vaccines, and blood products.
Remote areas do not have proper on-demand access to medical supplies. By centrally storing supplies such as blood, vaccines and necessary medications, we can deliver them on-demand through hybrid drone technology. Our drones have the ability to travel at speeds of 40 mph with a range of ~100 miles. Our solution can save thousands of lives.

Drone technology has seen primary application in surveyor and military areas. We are taking it one step further in order to save lives.
The problem remote areas face is one of access. Even if there are enough supplies, there aren't enough resources to get those supplies where they need to go to. Autonomous technology and the speed of these drones bridges such gaps.
Over the next year, we plan to deploy our technology in remote villages in India.
To scale up our technology, we plan to establish centralized locations across India and Bangladesh.

Our primary beneficiaries are individuals living in rural areas, which are in large part served by government hospitals. Thus, we will approach regional governments to establish contracts to serve these rural hospitals and their patients.
Currently our solution is in the prototype phase. We aim to deploy the technology to serve the first group of villages within the next year.
In 12 months, we expect to be serving 10 rural village hospitals by providing on-demand access to indispensible medical supplies such as medications, vaccines, and blood products. In 3 years, we hope to expand coverage to 25% of the rural hospitals in India and Bangladesh.

Our team has deep engineering, computer science, and life sciences expertise. We therefore believe we have the technical skills and necessary to build a successful product. We also have the project management experience to ensure that project is developed in a financially sound manner.
Furthermore, we are dedicated to improving the accessibility to and quality of healthcare in rural communities. We believe that we can expand our team in the future with other individuals who share this passion.
Our service-based revenue model consists of charging a fee for fast, on-demand delivery of medical supplies. Our solution adds value by providing easy and fast access to necessary medical supplies. Furthermore, by pooling the inventory of medical supplies into centralized distribution centers, the overall storage costs should decrease due to lower inventory levels and elimination of storage equipment (i.e. refrigerators, etc).
We are applying to Solve for the extensive support network. We are exited by the potential to network and collaborate with other teams and individuals who are passionate to improve healthcare. We also believe that the feedback and input from experienced mentors would be invaluable.
A few of the key barriers for our solution include perfecting the autonomous flight capabilities, navigating the government approval process, establishing contracts with key hospitals and entities, and raising money for further development and expansion.
