Pitchmic
Pitchmic is an online crowdfunding platform that helps startup companies, SMEs, and MSMEs in Nigeria get access to funds through equity crowdfunding or Crowdlending. We help connect investors/borrowers with business owners who in turn pay back through equity profit or interest.
When funds are provided for business owners or startup companies, they create more job opportunities and Lso add the economy of the country.
Pitchmic is basically focused on providing funds to existing businesses and startup companies through various investors looking for businesses to invest in.
Startup companies/business owners starts a fund campaign on the pitchmic platform, after which theu submit their application. We the platform owners view their application request, do our investigations on the legitimacy, feasibility and profit viability of their business. If they meet our requirements, we then publish their campaigns on our platform for potential investors/borrowers to see and invest.
Ones a fund raiser gets their required funding, we help these investors manage their investments by breaking down and disbursing these investors funds into milestones. With this, the funds generated will be properly and channeled into what they are meant for.
My solution serves entrepreneurs; startup companies, SMEs, MSMEs looking for funds to boost their businesses. Currently, the structure set aside by existing financial institutions are not not really catering for the fund needs of these businesses. Their strict policies makes it very hard for business owners to get loans or seek funds from them.
- Scale safe and private digital identity and financial tools to allow people and small businesses to thrive in the digital economy.
The major problem facing most of the ideas and people we have come in contact with is funding. In pitchmic we will use our platform to help develop an ecosystem of idea and fund seekers specifically for my own community people, we are innovating, creative and lover of business and an average graduate is either roaming the street because of no jobs or is frustrated because of the high cost of living, our platform will help curb and reduce unemployment by helping ideas with funding and thereby making those business create job opportunities for others. . We have projected more than 1,000 jobs if small business are available and funded. .
By providing funding to SMEs, MSMEs and startup companies in Nigeria, we will further help to connect entrepreneurs to investors looking viable businesses to invest in through our ecosystem where businesses and business ideas strive and this will encourage, groom and equip young entrepreneurs with business acumen and how to build sustainable business ventures.
- Prototype: A venture or organization building and testing its product, service, or business model.
Our is at the prototype stage. After building the first model of our business we decided to launch the version of that model. We then discovered that the model was not really solving the needs of our targeted audience. So we decided to change to the current model which is equity crowdfunding and Crowdlending. So far, the prototype version of the current model has gotten positive results and feedbacks
- A new application of an existing technology
Crowdfunding is changing how entrepreneurs bring new products to market. It has allowed thousands of innovating entrepreneurs to raise money, build brand awareness, and join a broader conversation with large numbers of potential backers, all while still in the product development process. Examples of crowdfunded products include the Glif, whose creators raised more than $137,000 for the device, which allows smartphone users to prop their phones up at an angle or attach them to tripods, and the Oculus Rift, a virtual-reality gaming headset that raised $2.4 million via crowdfunding. Oculus VR was later acquired by Facebook Inc. for $2 billion.
