Inclusive economic recovery plan
My project is in form of a proposal about inclusivity and sustainability which aims to solve the global digital divide - which is among the major challenges affecting the world today. The proposals that may bridge the global digital divide and foster inclusivity includes: Connecting the unconnected, industry innovations, revamping the global education system and advocating for coordinated efforts at global level and national level to foster social and economic equality. The proposal tackles several key issues including the major factors that affect the digital world today, the major global pressing issues that can be solved through digital technology, the urgent need to revamp the global education system, how digital technology influences the growth of the global economy. The proposal can facilitate achievement of all the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) sooner within the scheduled period, i.e. by 2030, thus putting the world back on trajectory of sustainable development.
Digital divide has been the major factor holding back the economic growth of poorer countries and marginalized groups as they are unable to take full advantage of the opportunities found in global digital ecosystem. According to the World Internet Stats 2020 and We are Social 2021, more than 40% of the global population is not connected to the internet and the differences in the internet connectivity between most digitally advanced nations and less digitally advanced nations largely reflect the differences in their economic growths. Some of the major factors leading to the global digital divide which my proposal has tackled include: lack of digital infrastructures and services, lack of affordable network services, devices and applications, lack of digital skills to create or add value and lack of coordinated efforts to foster social and economic equality. Bridging the global digital divide can improve socioeconomic equality, favor social mobility of people and boost innovation and economic growth globally. The less digitally advanced nations (digital south) have a greater momentum to embrace technology.
My solution is in form of a proposal about sustainability which aims to solve the global digital divide and foster inclusivity. The proposal tackles several key issues including the major factors that affect the digital world today, the major global pressing issues that can be solved through digital technology, the urgent need to revamp the global education system, how digital technology influences the growth of the global economy and how the United States perhaps working in collaboration with other governments globally and international organizations can build a green, equitable and sustainable global economic recovery plan through digital technology. The proposals that may bridge the global digital divide and foster inclusivity includes: Connecting the unconnected, industry innovations, revamping the global
education system and advocating for coordinated efforts at global level
and national level to foster social and economic equality. The proposals can facilitate achievement of all the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) sooner within the scheduled period, i.e. by 2030, thus putting the world back on trajectory of sustainable development.
The COVID-19 pandemic has focused the world`s attention on the need to take action to deal with threats to our way of life, our health and our future. Global attention has drive government policies and behavioral changes with disease, climate change, future of jobs, conflict and socioeconomic inequality becoming major subjects of worldwide scrutiny. In this light, we must continue to bring visibility to these threats while recognizing and supporting the opportunities for digital technologies and innovations that can best and rapidly address them. We have learned more than we have lost during the COVID-19 pandemic - countries which are more digitally evolved are recovering faster from COVID-19 pandemic (work from home policies and online learning) compared with the less digitally evolved nations. It is clear that digital technology is playing a vital role in their recovery paths hence populations in developing economies and low-income economies including the marginalized groups which lack access to the required digital infrastructures and services will continue being affected by the pandemic for a longer time compared with the developed economies. My proposal is addressing this issue of global digital divide by proposing that every population globally (especially in developing and low-income countries) should be provided with adequate and affordable digital infrastructures and services to prevent divergent recovery paths which may hinder global prosperity in future.
- Provide low-income, remote, and refugee communities access to digital infrastructure and safe, affordable internet.
Global digital divide is the major factor affecting the global digital economy and if the situation about internet connectivity is not resolved soon, the benefit of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) will not be felt, hence living more people even further behind. Populations from low-income economies and marginalized groups have been hit harder by the COVID-19 pandemic compared with other populations. The only way to prevent divergent recovery paths is through provision of affordable digital infrastructures and services to these groups so that they can release their full potential - this will significantly boost the global digital economy.
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea.

I am just a young man trying to do the right thing, I need people who can believe in me so that we can work together - for the common good and make the word a better place.
I am doing it now by involving Solve`s best brains by sharing my proposal with you. I need Solve`s involvement and support to this happen.
