In Zambia, Farming is critical to health, wealth, and the economy: 53.4% of adults live in rural areas, dependent on the agriculture industry for economic well-being. Although agriculture’s share of GDP has declined since 2004, recent studies have asserted it has a “significant” impact on short/long term economic growth and recommended direct investment in food-processing zones. 58% of Zambia's 16.6 million people earn less than the international poverty line of $1.90 per day (compared to 41% across SubSaharan Africa) (2015) and 75%+ of the poor live in rural areas (2015)

Targeting small scale farmers in rural areas of the province by giving out small loans for irrigation equipment such as treadle pumps, water solar pumps, and agriculture inputs such as fertilizer, seeds and chemicals to those doing horticulture farming.
This project focuses on the poor, especially women and youths. Why women? Women and children are the most vulnerable. Furthermore, they often run the risk of attack and abuse, a second audience category of beneficiary is active poor (especially farmers and small scale Entrepreneurs) who cannot receive loans from other financial institutions or grantors - such as an employee.
main target group comprises women of childbearing age, small scale farmers, Vulnerable households near or below poverty line: Wage laborers, tenants, smallholders, retail first-level buyers and small entrepreneurs and agricultural produce, Most in this group belong to the absolute poor who have no access to finance due to lack of collateral and mostly affected by malnutrition. These People live on less $2 PPP to $3 PPP a day, these are small scale farmers and entrepreneurs who buy seeds and other farming inputs from Agro-dealers.
The services we provides promotes on and off-farm economic and employment opportunities though technical advice, increased market access, more inclusive financial services (including risk management), provision of infrastructure that links rural and urban regions, and human resource development. Such improvements, along with coherent employment policies, can facilitate the transition from the informal economy to the formal economy, particularly for women farmers, and allow workers in food production systems to access services and earn a decent income.

We have alredy developed the Tivwane Gtipay banking wallet system we alredy signed MOU with GTipay Inc USA and we are working together to implement this project in zambia, we have a Prototype in place we have started the process of educating and registering the customers and we just need funding to pilot the project with alredy trained number of customers in that community of Eastern Province of Zambia particularly in Katete District.
