Access to internet to rural and underdeveloped areas is challenge because of lack infrastructure such electricity. Custom designed mobile scooters can be used to reach these areas.The scooters will act as mobile hotspots and be equipped with computer screen and keyboard. This will enable to demonstrate to the least how to use the computer and also provide practical training on the spot. Mobile digital platform scooters are versatile and can be use globally to effect positive change since they're suitable for all terrains.
The lack of internet access and digital literacy has left the rural and underdeveloped communities lagging in obtain quality education, access to information and participating in the main-stream economy.Lack of infrastructure such electricity makes it difficult to provide digital service to these communities. The rural population make up sizeable chunk of the South African population of about 35%. While statistics have shown a tendency to migrate to urban areas, by mainly the youth, these are often ill-equipped to being part of the main-stream economy that is ever changing and digitized. In pursuing further studies the youth from rural areas are often disempowered by virtue of them being computer illiterate . Modern day studies require some degree of digital knowledge and since most of them have not used computers before they are often faced with difficulty of adjusting. This same applies to enter the job market as they also find themselves unskilled and unqualified to perform jobs that require computer skills.
The wave of the fourth industrial revolution is fast sweeping upon us and yet the divide that exists in the current rural communities leaves them further away to the realization of tasting the fruits thereof.
Access to information is a critical driver of innovation and thriving economies. Inclusion of the rural population of South Africa into the digital space will be catalyst of opening up untapped creativity and empower everyone with necessary skills to participate in main-stream economy. Mobile digital learning platforms will act as driver to grant access to the internet and teach computer skills, analytical and basic programming skills. Lack of infrastructure that act as stumbling block to providing internet and other digital service can be mitigated through the use of this solution since the scooter itself will provide power from the battery. The wifi router will be mounted on the scooter which is fitted with computer and keyboard that is fitted with programs and simulation that can act as self learning programs. Programs that will reach they rural communities will aim to educate them on how to use the internet for knowledge gaining purposes, teach skills such as typewriting, data analysis and basic programming. This is drive to bring the rural population in South Africa up to speed with the with digitized world we live in.
The rural communities of South Africa particularly those that have consistently shown poor performance in education for a long time. Very limited budget is allocated to these areas and they are often victims of corruption from government officials. Interacting with them directly has made it possible for us to understand their needs. This way, the perceived proposal has been communicated to them and has been welcomed with happiness. The proposed solution will ensure access to the internet and digital literacy to them.

The solution proposes a unique way of bringing internet access and digital literacy to the low income remote communities. It can be extended to other areas as well to bring about digital literacy regardless of location and education. Since it is mobile digital platform it can reach the very remote communities very easily and effectively. Since it will be equipped with self learning programs it will ensure that proper digital learning takes place to the marginalized communities.

We are a registered non-profit organization that is currently creating awareness of science and mathematics. In particular our target is the rural communities that have proven to produce low pass rates in secondary education. To this end we have begun to create an online channel to reach out to them through the internet. However, most of them do not have internet and therefore are not able access the service provided to them. The use of mobile digital platform will grant to them the required access.

Tasked with mobile wifi and self learning programs installed in a computer, this will equip everyone with the necessary computer knowledge.The conventional method requires one to have the correct infrastructure to provide access to the internet. Mobile digital learning platform overrides the pre-requisite of having to first have the infrastructure and then the internet. Here the internet and digital literacy can be accessed easily and conveniently without the hassle of first ensuring the costly infrastructure in there first. Mobile digital platforms can reach the most remote areas and grant access to quality digital literacy and the internet.

Currently we measure our goals by the learners perform in the subjects that the we are tutoring them on. And we want to expand our reach from the current small communities to the broader rural areas and this is possible it we internet is readily available.
