Mobile Apps Development and Incubation
Farmers Pride is an Agriculture organisation promoting the integration of Technology into Agriculture value chain, our strategy is based on technological innovation and seeks to create mobile applications incubation and acceleration platforms, Mobile Applications Laboratories and Mobile Social Networking Hubs through providing an opportunity for anybody with an IT background to use/showcase their passion in mobile applications development and provide mobile applications that are easy to implement to the Global Agribusiness sector at a very low cost, and offer solutions to the Agriculture value chain.
The Mobile Social Networking Hubs concept was an idea borne out of discovering that there is vastly untapped talent in graduates (IT and other sectors) leaving colleges after completing their IT studies but failing to get employment, a gap in the Agriculture sector and development agencies whose work is based on data capturing and research in Africa hence the need for reliable sources and applications to use in their work. Research indicates that the advent of mobile application development has allowed the farmers to work in a more efficient manner. They also play a major role in lowering down the costs involved. Mobile apps also enable the farmers to grow better crops, and in turn get better revenues and improve their livelihoods. Farmers Pride International takes this as a strategy to use to bring in young people into the agriculture value chain as the current farming activities are considered a thing for the elderly people.
We will be solving a challenge that stands between the integration of technology into Agriculture as well as the involvement of young people in Agriculture as well as job creation for millions of young people who are out of work but have brilliant ideas to create their own jobs and that of others, this will in the long run give connectivity means to the Agriculture value chain in Africa
Our solution is to create a work space for young IT students and other young people to come and learn to code or have a free Wi-Fi system to use to create their own mobile applications for the Agriculture sector in Africa, the space will give them free Wi-Fi as well as mentorship and incubation for their mobile applications. it will work with brand-new builder or seasoned developers and our goal is to make your app-building experience as efficient and enjoyable as possible. We will use PhoneGap, also known as Apache Cordova, an open-source mobile app development framework that uses CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript, to create native applications for Android, Windows, and iOS
Our solution will serve the Agriculture value chain by creation of solution for date collection, climate change solutions as well as plant pest solutions, information and other for all farmers and the apps will be used to network the farmers in SADC regions to data centres that shall be created in the long run, they will also be able to help farmers get information on the market as well as the information on COVID-19.

- Provide low-income, remote, and refugee communities access to digital infrastructure and safe, affordable internet.
Mobile application development hubs will support, people in refugee camps and up to 500 more youths who are out of school to start developing their applications that will give indirect jobs to 5000 other young people and farmers in the first year, they will also provide information and be able to collect data that farmers will benefit from, data on weather change, climate change, pests, market. The agriculture sector in the SADC region lacks the type of Mobile applications and the IT students lack jobs which they can now be able to create for themselves. Those in refugee camps will have space to work on creating a life after their challenges as well
- Concept: An idea being explored for its feasibility to build a product, service, or business model based on that idea.
We work with young people in our NGO who have approached us with their Mobile applications to find out where to sell and how they can get help to continue to develop more applications and how to secure or protect their application ideas from being stolen by others. This has prompted us to think of this great idea as an Agribusiness Organisation which has operations across Africa, if we start this project it bring sustainability to our work, creates jobs and gives farmers and refugees access to cheaper ways of communicating
- A new business model or process that relies on technology to be successful
Our solution allows the farmers to work in a more efficient manner. It also plays a major role in lowering down the costs involved. Our mobile apps will also enable farmers to grow better crops, and in turn get better revenues and improve their livelihoods while creating jobs for young people and getting them into agriculture value chains.

Our solution is not yet serving anyone as it has not yet started, in one year it shall be serving 100 000 people in 5 years 1 million people
We shall measure through Agricultural productivity by looking at the ratio of agricultural outputs to inputs. We will also measure weight, which is known as crop yield, varying products that make measuring overall agricultural output difficult. Before and after the usage of technology
- Nonprofit
We have 50 people in each country with a membership of more than 200 farmers in each country, most of them young people.
We have a team of Farmers who have IT background who understand both fields and how the solution will be used
Our HR team will recruit a diverse workforce that includes a range of ages, ethnicities, religions and world views. Identifying and hiring people with such diverse backgrounds and characteristics is an achievement that reflects our pride. We will have a culture where all employees feel included
- Individual consumers or stakeholders (B2C)
