Millennia Aviation CLG
The pandemic has caused disruption to educational systems, as it has shifted to distance learning, these disruptions exacerbate pre-existing education inequalities along wealth, gender, linguistic, and geographical lines. Furthermore, there is a discrepancy between the market's skills requirement and education skills outcomes.
To enable the transition to the digital workforce, we aim to provide an immersive educational program in the advanced air mobility industry for secondary school, aimed to immerse them into the world of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) technology, the second tools is an optimization skills assessment to advise on the most needed skills to be eligible for the digital economy market in the future.
If this was scaled globally, this will have an impact on teaching youth the most important digital skills to be acquired for employment, as a result, youth especially the marginalized will be taught an optimized education, find employment, enhance well-being and livelihoods.
An estimated 1.5 billion primary and secondary learners’ (ages 5-18) in education worldwide, and exclusively approx of 160k aged 0-24 years old students in Ireland, have disrupted educational systems due to the pandemic, even before the Covid-19 crisis, learning environments needed significant reimagining to support young learners to develop the skills and competencies they need to thrive in the 21st century.
To deal with the pandemic, some schools have shifted to distance learning, while many have had limited operations for months. These disruptions exacerbate pre-existing education inequalities along wealth, gender, linguistic, and geographical lines. These challenges if not addressed, unfinished learning could represent a $10 trillion loss in lifetime earnings.
In addition, as drone technology matures more and more people will have access using it. The future of drones means that people who have never had any involvement in aviation can be a part of the aviation community in a matter of hours and with very little training. In Ireland and in Europe, kids aged 16 can become qualified drone pilots and in some EU member states the age can be lowered to 14 years old. That alone means a total of approx. 4.5 mil students in the EU.
Our focus with the Millennia Aviator Program for Junior (MAP)is to deliver an immersive and fun educational program. The program can be delivered in one or two days, where a combination of theory, code building, gaming, and quizzing will be applied.
Some of the topics covered will include: Aviation law, safety & risk Primary components of a multirotor system, evolution & applications Control fundamentals - “Line of Sight” (LoS) Simulator basics, fundamentals of coding block-based, autonomous flying. Moreover, they will learn how to build and fly a drone safely, Learning how to access the relevant information for conducting a safe flight Exploring big ideas about the global and future vision of the UAV technology Developing competencies in creative thinking, communication, and collaboration. Ultimately, the students will become more responsible citizens and drone pilots.
More importantly, our optimization skill tools will advise students about the most needed skills to be acquired to be eligible for the digital economy, in the fast-paced moving industries, the tools facilitate using data analytics and business intelligence to predict job patterns and market demands.
Millennia Aviator Program for Junior targets students aged 13-18 from all walks of life, especially the underserved. The underserved youth suffer from unemployment opportunities that lead to poverty, social exclusion, and health status. Young students will be taught more about 21st century skills to match with the market's skills requirements through the aviator program.
Throughout the program implementation, we will be doing optimization performance analysis and career counseling to advise these youth about career paths, meanwhile building their competencies in the most required skills in technology and aviation.
The solution improvement and the delivery of the sessions will be human-centric and dependent on the feedback we get from the youth regarding teaching methodology and on-hand experience teaching,[ especially the inclusion aspect of the underserved students in the digital economy sector.]
Our approach will be both theoretical and practical, thought online and in the classroom. Next to these courses, we plan on running competitions among high school and university students, where we will instigate their imagination and curiosity about the future of aviation. In addition, we will continue developing our communication and awareness campaigns, using all our online platforms as well as those of our partners.
On completion of our course, the students will be better equipped with the understanding and skills required for the advanced air mobility industry. They will be able to know where to access and connect with a community of innovators, thinkers, and doers. Our quality training will enable the student to get closer to become a drone pilot and think like an entrepreneur.
- Equip everyone, regardless of age, gender, education, location, or ability, with culturally relevant digital literacy skills to enable participation in the digital economy.
The pandemic has disrupted the education system and before that, there was a gap between market needs and skills acquired for an industry that will double in value within the next 5 years and create new industries, jobs and add value to the economy and society, €10 Bil. EU market.
To enable the transition to the workforce and social inclusion for underserved communities, we are aiming to provide an immersive educational program in the advanced air mobility industry and optimization skills tool to advise on the most needed skills, to be eligible for the digital economy market in the future.
- Growth: An organization with an established product, service, or business model rolled out in one or, ideally, several communities, which is poised for further growth.
Millennia Aviation officially came into existence in the summer of 2020. The team joined forces to create, develop and grow this initiative with the aim to better inform and educate the public about the exciting and fast evolving UAV/VTOL technology. Most importantly, prepare the society and young people how to understand, to interact and eventually use the technology safely and ethically.
Throughout 2020 we have delivered a number of initiatives online, including workshops, talks and articles. The MAP Junior program is a robust education program which has already secured funding for two regions in Ireland, and which we continue to grow and develop.
Our growth includes strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders such as the European Aviation Safety Agency and private organisations. In addition to our educational program we also offer career counseling solutions for youth regardless of their background and with special emphasis on underserved communities.
- A new application of an existing technology
Our value proposition is that across the delivery of the program, we use a combination of immersive learning that includes theory, building, gaming, and quizzing. Our program addresses one of the emerging technologies that are part of industry 4.0 and that covers the ethical and safety aspect of drone usage.
The student will explore the big ideas about global, future vision, and entrepreneurship. They will develop competencies in creative thinking, communication, and collaboration. The most important feature is that the program will cover the most needed skills in the aviation industry; Engineering, Aviation, Coding, Legislation, Technology, Connectivity, and Sensors.
More so, our job optimization tool will increase job acquiring and talent matching by studying the market, aligning the most needed skills in our educational program, and matching them with talents platform, as a result, we will increase job satisfaction, productivity, and optimization learning and job hunting processes.
